When she leaned in, Julian Shepley pulled the blanket to cover her.
"How's Auntie's health now?"
Dinah Quinn paused, "Thanks to your arrangements, much better now!"
Julian chuckled softly, "How did you know it was me who arranged it?"
Dinah spoke softly, "Who else could it be but you!"
Julian played along with a teasing smile, "In your heart, am I really this kind?"
Dinah said nothing.
She understood his kindness had motives!
At this point, Julian fully deciphered her thoughts, "Just as you guessed, my kindness has motives!"
"Although, I have a contract at hand!"
"But you know, in a relationship, heartfelt affection rarely comes willingly."
Dinah lowered her lashes, stammering, "If you want, I can always..."
Julian chuckled again, "No need!"
"That's no fun!"
Dinah was clever!
From his brief words, she clearly grasped his thoughts and intentions.
"Julian, you're so kind and gentlemanly, good deeds will be rewarded!"
