"Mommy? Where is daddy?" Runa asked, clutching onto her mother's dress as they sat in the garden.
This was not the first time the question had been asked. The other girls were with them too, and the sad expression on the little princess's face as she asked where her father was forced them to all look down at their feet. Rune's absence saddened little Runa the most, but girls felt it strongly too.
Luna was having an especially hard time. It hurt her to have Rune disappear on them like this, and it hurt her to see their daughter so heart broken.
"Daddy just... had to go away for a while, but he will be back," Luna said, her voice trembling a little.
It was hard not feel worried. The forbidden mountains were said to be the most dangerous region, just after the Neridian sea. The main difference was that many of Nereid's biggest threats was hidden far beneath the waves, while all of Lumiere's were wandering out in the open. Luna feared for Rune's safety.
