The dreamlike crystals are a modification by the lady in cheongsam, derived from scenic style. Although they transform the form of ultimate moves to resemble the landscape of Hot Springs Town, they are not entirely realistic.
Whether it's a tangible ultimate move or a pure energy ultimate move, most ultimate moves turn into mirage-like illusions. Some energy ultimate moves, like Netherworld Wind, become so faint like smoke that their original forms are almost unrecognizable.
But because of this, the dreamlike style can adapt to more ultimate moves, making at least most common ultimate moves applicable; and visually, it isn't too bad.
The level of detail certainly can't compare to the scenic style, as that required a lot of effort by the lady in cheongsam to create. However, it's much more earnest in its transformation compared to dessert and snack-style, as it changes significantly more.
