Originally, they could have occupied this Starfield territory massively, bringing this Starfield entirely under their control in the Orion Arm, but they did not do so. Instead, they merely demanded reparations.
And the amount of these reparations turned out to be extremely reasonable.
So reasonable that the Starfield could accept it, without any negotiation needed.
Not only the Starfield that is most hostile to the Orion Arm, but also many surrounding Starfields were similar. Each of them received requests for war reparations from the Orion Arm.
None of these Starfields refused this compensation request because rejecting it would lead to the great war of the Orion Arm descending upon them.
As for the amount of compensation, many high-level figures in these Starfields seemed to find it very reasonable.
The monetary amount was certainly reasonable, and many of the demands weren't uncomfortable.
