Chapter 682 - Chapter 681: mathematics defeats magic

The Mirror Dimension was under Stephen's control, while Peter darted around chaotically inside. Everything he saw was surreal—buildings folding in on themselves, trains speeding through midair.

Doctor Strange kept manipulating and altering the environment, trying to create obstacles for Spider-Man. But Peter was incredibly agile, refusing to let go of the box, making him a real headache to deal with.

In the end, however, the Box still ended up in Stephen's hands.

That was when Peter figured out the secret of the Mirror Dimension. "An Archimedean spiral? This place follows the rules of geometry! And I'm good at geometry—this is just another problem to solve!"

Immediately, he shot out webs—not at Doctor Strange, but at specific angles, applying his geometric knowledge.

Just as Stephen was about to open a portal and leave with the box, Peter called out, "Hey, Stephen, you know what's cooler than magic? Math!"

Before he even finished speaking, webs shot in from all directions, wrapping Stephen up like a mummy!

You had to admit, Peter was sharp. His keen observation skills allowed him to figure out a way to counter the Mirror Dimension in such a short time. It was definitely something to be proud of.

Outside the screen, Pietro chuckled. "Haha! Looks like even magic has to follow mathematical principles. Peter just gave me a lesson!"

Stephen, still a bit dumbfounded, shook his head with a wry smile. "Yeah, he gave me one too. Maybe Kamar-Taj should start offering math classes."

As for the younger Peter watching all this unfold, he didn't have the knowledge of his future self yet—he had no clue what an Archimedean spiral was. But he still felt an inexplicable sense of awe.

He fully agreed with his future self's words—math was indeed cooler than magic. This realization sparked a newfound interest in mathematics.

Back in the video, after restraining Doctor Strange, Peter even snatched his Sling Ring before taking the Box back with him.

At that moment, a new question popped up on the screen:

[Will Peter Parker's 'cure' ultimately succeed?

Note: This is a buzzer question.]

[A: Yes

B: No

C: It worked, but not completely

D: He gave up halfway]

Pietro raised an eyebrow. "Interesting. I think the answer is somewhere between C and D. Most of the previous questions were binary choices, but this one's different."

Stephen analyzed, "From the future footage of the other Spider-Men, we can get a rough idea of these villains' conditions. Doctor Octopus, Sandman, and Lizard seem savable—their issues are relatively straightforward."

"But Electro and Green Goblin are much trickier. Their mental states are worse, especially Norman. He looks like he's under control, but his evil side is just lurking beneath the surface. Future Peter clearly doesn't anticipate this. So I think he might succeed in curing some of them, but not all. My bet is on C."

Peter spoke up in a low voice, "Guys, our score is in a dangerous spot. We really need to get this one right."

"Of course, I know that." Stephen nodded. "That's why we need to win the buzzer."

On the other side, Team A had their own debate. Erik believed the answer was B—he already disliked Spider-Man and found Peter's overly compassionate nature ridiculous.

But Charles, as expected, disagreed. Just like his future self, Professor X, he believed in giving people second chances.

The two were at a stalemate, with Logan stuck in the middle of their argument. In the end, Erik backed down—he'd already cost the team too many points before. But his one condition was that they not pick A.

Erik smirked. "If the correct answer turns out to be A, Charles, I'll listen to you from now on."

Charles hesitated for a moment before settling on a compromise—C.

The buzzer countdown began. Both teams were eager to answer correctly, hoping to shift the tide in their favor.

This time, Team A won the buzzer. Charles answered for them, choosing C.

When the timer hit zero, the correct answer was revealed:

[Congratulations, Team A got the correct answer! Player Charles Xavier, player Erik lenhenserr, and player Logan Howlett each earn 4 points.]

[Team B also answered correctly. Player Stephen strange, player Peter Parker, and player Pietro maximoff each earn 1 point!]

Both teams got it right, but Stephen's team was a little disappointed—they had been hoping to win the buzzer bonus.

As the question concluded, the video resumed.

Peter, having trapped Doctor Strange in the Mirror Dimension, returned to the Sanctum's basement with the Box. After talking things over with Ned and MJ, he reaffirmed his determination to cure the villains.

But not all of them were on board with his plan.

Sandman was impatient to return to his world—he just wanted to see his daughter again. He had already made peace with his Spider-Man, so he saw no reason to stick around.

Doc Ock, Electro, and Lizard didn't trust Peter at all. They assumed he had ulterior motives and couldn't understand his selfless desire to help them.

Surprisingly, Norman was the most cooperative.

Peter, convinced by his own ideals, didn't care about their resistance. He freed them anyway, driven by his sense of duty. Lizard, the most unwilling of the group, was locked in a containment vehicle, while the rest followed Peter to Happy's apartment.

Due to Peter's identity being exposed, he and Aunt May had faced relentless harassment at their old home, forcing them to move in with Happy.

Conveniently, Happy's place had a Stark Industries fabrication unit—a high-tech machine that looked like a washing machine but could analyze and produce advanced technology.

Peter's confidence in changing the villains' fates largely came from this device.

In the end, even after Tony was gone, his legacy was still looking after Peter.

Peter decided to start with Doc Ock. His mechanical arms had been hacked by Peter's nanotech suit earlier, giving him some insight into how they worked.
