Chapter 680 - Chapter 679: A Sneak Attack from Peter Parker

Before Sandman was transported to this world, he had already reconciled with the Spider-Man from his own universe. Though he hadn't figured out the situation yet, he still chose to help the young Spider-Man fight Electro.

Seizing the opportunity, Spider-Man continuously shot webs to stick to the surrounding high-voltage power towers. He was smart enough to quickly deduce the source of Electro's power after just a brief encounter.

By pulling down those high-voltage power towers with his webs, Electro indeed lost his energy source. At the same time, he was shocked to find that his body had returned to normal!

In his original universe, due to a failed experiment, his body was burned to a crisp, and after reviving in the morgue, he became Electro. However, upon arriving in this world, for some unknown reason, his physical form was restored!

Meanwhile, Peter removed his mask, and they all realized that the Spider-Man standing before them was not the same one they knew.

The young Spider-Man briefly explained the concept of the multiverse to them and then sent Electro to the prison cell. Seeing him shoot a golden beam of light and making Electro disappear, Sandman mistakenly assumed that Spider-Man had killed Electro. Since this Spider-Man was not the one he knew, he immediately prepared to attack. However, Spider-Man was faster and also sent him to the cell to reunite with Electro.

In the New York Sanctum's underground prison, the four villains from different worlds looked at each other, still confused about the situation. Lizard (Dr. Curt Connors) and Electro came from the same universe, and they were even former colleagues. Meanwhile, Sandman and Doctor Octopus shared another universe.

As they conversed, the villains realized they had all been transported here at the exact moment they were battling Spider-Man—right when they had the upper hand.

On the other side, before Peter could return, he received a call from Aunt May, telling him that an unexpected visitor had arrived—Green Goblin (Norman Osborn)!

Peter was startled and rushed over, only to find that the monstrous villain who had been terrifying on the bridge earlier now looked like a homeless wanderer—his demeanor had completely changed.

He had found Aunt May's home because of the Spider-Man "GG" sign outside and had come asking for help. During their conversation, Aunt May realized that Norman suffered from mental illness, possibly split personality disorder, and out of compassion, she asked Peter to help him.

Peter felt conflicted. He no longer wanted to make things more complicated and just wanted to follow Doctor Strange's instructions to send these multiversal intruders back to their original worlds. But Aunt May insisted that he try to cure them first.

Seeing this, Pietro frowned and said, "This feels weird. Neither she nor Peter are doctors. Like Peter said, sending them back would be the best solution. Why go through all this extra trouble?"

Doctor Strange narrowed his eyes, thinking that perhaps this was the reason why he and Peter would later come into conflict.

While he didn't agree with Aunt May's opinion, he also couldn't criticize her too much. After all, she meant well, but he felt her kindness was misplaced and unnecessary.

Yes, many villains have tragic backstories, but the moment they choose to commit crimes and harm innocent people, they must face the consequences. This was what Captain America, Batman, and he himself—Doctor Strange—believed was true justice!

On the other side, Magneto sneered coldly, "Mercy towards enemies is cruelty to oneself. I hope this kid smartens up before he makes an even bigger mistake!"

In the video, Peter brought Norman back to the New York Sanctum. During the journey, Norman seemed completely normal, behaving like a mentally ill but harmless homeless man.

However, when Doctor Octopus saw him, he was shocked and exclaimed, "Norman Osborn?! You're supposed to be dead!"

In his timeline, Green Goblin had already died—indirectly at Spider-Man's hands.

Meanwhile, Sandman came from a later timeline and confirmed that Doctor Octopus would also die fighting Spider-Man. This revelation caused the villains to panic.

Electro, too, began to wonder—if he hadn't been mysteriously transported here, would he have died as well?

Peter was overwhelmed by their cross-timeline discussions, and just then, Doctor Strange arrived.

He was pleased with Spider-Man's work, and with a wave of his hand, he sent Norman into a cell. Then, he pulled out a golden, glowing ancient artifact—macchina di kadavus.

While Spider-Man had been capturing the villains, Doctor Strange had been working on a solution. He had trapped the failed memory spell inside the macchina di kadavus. Once Peter finished rounding up all the villains, he would reverse the spell to send them back to their original universes.

Hearing this, Doctor Octopus, Electro, and Norman Osborn panicked—they didn't want to be sent back, knowing they would die! They shouted in protest.

Seeing them in distress, Peter hesitated. Remembering Aunt May's words, he pleaded with Doctor Strange, "We can't send them back—at least not now. Some of them will die the moment they return!"

Doctor Strange frowned and replied, "Parker, this is their fate!"

Peter found Strange too cold-hearted and begged, "Please, Strange, have some compassion."

Doctor Strange remained unmoved, his voice indifferent: "In the grand scheme of the multiverse, their deaths are more important than their survival. I'm sorry, kid. If they're destined to die, then so be it."

With that, he prepared to reverse the spell, sending all the villains back.

Peter hesitated for just a moment—but in the next instant, he shot a web and snatched the macchina di kadavus from Doctor Strange's hand!

Doctor Strange was completely caught off guard and was momentarily stunned. However, Peter was quick to act. As soon as he grabbed the box, he raised his other hand and used the modified wristband given by Strange to teleport Doctor Strange into a prison cell!

Watching this scene unfold, Doctor Strange, outside the video, looked utterly exasperated. Gritting his teeth, he muttered, "Oh my God, I never thought this kid would actually fight me just to save these villains!"

Pietro was also stunned. He glanced at the younger Spider-Man next to him and shook his head:

"Putting everything else aside, Green Goblin is definitely not a good person, and Electro is also problematic. Whether they even deserve to be saved is debatable.

But more importantly—why does Peter trust these alternate-universe villains more than his own allies?

He's only known these guys for less than a day—he has no idea what crimes they've committed!

Sigh, I have a feeling his so-called kindness won't end well."
