Chapter 20 - 20 Game Mode part 1

Chapter 20 Game Mode part 1

Anyone will think twice of disturbing him as he sat on the throne. His eyes burn ever so fervently as if he is furious of something. He's been sitting there for awhile now silent and unmoving. He gives the impression of a coiled snake waiting to strike.

Where in the world is he?

Why is he here?

Why is he alive?

What is his purpose?

This are just the few things he asked him self whenever he stop playing.

It consumes him.

Playing online games brings him to another world to escape from his reality. It elevates him, it makes him forget his problems, his sorrows. That's how he developed his game mode. A switch in his brain that automatically forgets everything in life, and focused on the game he is playing. He remembered times when he played nonstop for days, were he only take short breaks to eat or to go to the comfort room. But when he finally finished, he plunged into to a deep depression knowing he have to go back to real life.

That's why he need to keep on playing or else his life will catch up on him.

When he was pulled into this world, his game mode automatically kicked in and helped him survive. He knew that he need to rely on it to stay alive. But there are moments that reality hits him like a boulder, telling him that this is not a game and everything and everyone is real.

Maia showed him her grief of loosing her family.

Ella showed how she suffered.

And that Orc he just punished showed him his fear for his life when he sent the orc to the shadows.

The abduction of Maia angered him. What they did to the slaves enraged him and when he poured all that hate to that orc it frightened him. He's not a murderer or a killer. Yes he destroyed and conquered his enemies but it was just a game. This is real life. In his game mode, they are just online players or NPI or bot that he could kill. Now that he's alone and able to reflect what happened it consumes him with guilt. He should have not killed them. They are living beings, yes those creatures in the Never Day may deserved it but it was their nature. It's like in the wild, Lions need to hunt for their prey to survive. But they are harming the people of this Realm.

Which brings him back to why he is here, what is his purpose?

He don't want to kill, but he think he will have to. That's why he is always on his game mode, He don't like to take the burden of reality. But he guess this new life that he have will make him live in both.

"Brooding again my love?" She whispered to his mind softly.

This snapped him out from his reflection and look up to see the Princess walked out from the shadows towards him. He watched her as she treads in his direction, He can't help from being captivated of her radiance. He love her, He now knew that love at first sight does exist.

Having her is like a dream, a fantasy that he don't want to wake from. In his old life he never had a chance to be with the woman he love. He did gave his heart to someone before but she never gave it back when she broke it.

"I can read your thoughts you know." She said smiling at me as she reached the throne and sat in his lap.

He like what she's doing. She makes him feel whole and not alone. He gently hugged her, to feel her and to cherish her.

"Your conflicted my love." She continued as if he replied to her conversation. "I know you're hesitations." She looked him in the eyes. "I'm not going to push you from consuming those souls so you can ascend and summon me my love."

"But you said it before that I need to do this as soon ass possible." He replied trying to read her intentions.

"That will soon come my love, for the meantime you can use your time to understand how your power works." She smiled sweetly. "I suggest asking your right hand Puff how your shadow minions work. You've been busy lately that you forgot to master your skill which will lead you to discovering new ones."
