She was in her state of daydreaming.
It was her form of escape from the cold and empty reality of her life. Unlike her reality, her dream world was perfect. Everything was as she it to be. Her father was alive and hale. Annika and Amberly were still here with her, they were happily bickering and laughing. She wasn't the cursed lass a leg impediment and the villagers didn't despise her.
But most importantly – Zander had come back to her as he promised. She could still hear his voice whispering to her 'I'll always come to you'. She hadn't been keeping count of days but it must have been a month and some days and still there had been no sign of him.
Aurora has been waking up to each dreadful day, half hoping that Zander will come find her, but as each day passed nothing happened, no one came. It only left myriad of thoughts running through her mind. What if Zander had forgotten about her? No…that wasn't possible. She had dismissed the thought almost immediately.
