Near this street, two children were begging. One looked under ten years old and had lost an arm, and the other was over ten with a slightly lame leg and blind in one eye.
Both were dressed in rags, kneeling on the ground, looking young and pitiable, with no adults nearby. Passersby more or less gave them some spare change.
The sound of coins clinking against the metal bowl echoed heavily in the hearts of the two youths.
They kept thanking the passersby, but there was no joy in their eyes, only apathy.
In a nearby alley, someone smoked a cigarette, greedily watching them.
The camera crew's lens only swept past the scene, and only a few viewers noticed and sent comments. But on stage, the guests were performing, and most of the attention was on the main lens. The sparse comments quickly got buried.
Two hours later, the performance ended.
The kids didn't care about their image at all, sitting on the ground squeezed together like a pile of dumplings.
"So tired!"
