After the typhoon passed, Jack Hugh and Blake Shaw emerged from the cave, akin to a survival expedition in the wilderness. There was not a single path to tread on, and the slippery mud offered no clue of which part was firm and which was not.
The two had no choice but to pick up a stick and test the treacherousness of the road ahead.
A few hundred meters from the cave entrance, they turned back to look. Thankfully, the mountain wasn't tall, with plenty of trees and fewer rocks at the midsection, and the base was covered with weeds and soft soil. Without such favorable geography, they might not have survived the fall last night.
