Chapter 55 - seeing Dad

Audrey's POV.

Back here again,Audrey thought laying down in a pitch black environment.

At some point you get to love being here, quiet, just her and her thoughts.

"Pumpkin", some one called, but Audrey didn't say a word. She knew who the voice belonged to, but she had to hear it for the second time to make sure it wasn't her mind was playing tricks on her.

"Pumpkin, I'm behind you".

Audrey turned but was met with a blinding bright light, she was confused as to why there was light all of a sudden. It was a miracle because her semi-conscious has never had light, it always felt dark and empty.

After a while it dulled down a bit for her to be able to see the cause of the light, a man stood there, emitting little light.

"Dad?".

He still wore the same clothes she last saw him in, the day of the accident years ago.

His disheveled brown hair, his russet brown eyes.

How could it be possible, how could she be able to see him. Felt like a dream, even tho she was partially in one, but to good to be true.

"Dad?", she asked again smelling his usual chocolate flavored scent.

"Yes pumpkin it's me", He replied shocked that she could see him. With out hesitation Audrey ran straight towards him, hugging him really tight. She felt as tho if she let go, she wouldn't be able to see him anymore

"What about mom? I want to see mom", she cried. She most desperately wanted to see her mom.

"She didn't come" he said patting her head gently.

"Why haven't you guys been coming? I Haven't heard you guys in months",Audrey asked still holding on tight to her dad.

"I'm so sorry pumpkin, they had been complications, But I'm here now", he said as he kissed the top of her hair.

"You've changed since the last time I saw you", he said pulling Audrey out of his embrace to admire her improvement. Last time he saw her she was badly malnourished, looked so pale, almost dead. "im so happy to see your improvement".

They both talked for a while, catching up on things. Even tho Audrey's dad couldn't tell her anything about him, he always listened to his daughters. Her life mattered more to him than his.

"I have to go, I'm sorry I wish I could stay longer, but I'll find away to visit often", he said hugging her really tight.

The bright light that he emitted started to dim. She looked up at father, sec by sec he became lighter till he became see through.

"Can I see you through",She said trying to touch him, but her hand passed through him.

She couldn't fight or protest, because she knew he couldn't control the time he spends with her. If he could, he would have spent forever by her side, but at least she saw him. After so many years, her heart felt so warm inside.

Everything started turning blur, Audrey knew she was regaining her conscious.

She woke up with a severe headache, she clenched her head sitting up. She looked around confused about where she was, this wasn't her room. After a while, when she calmed down, she remembered how she got here.

She scanned through her body, to see all her bruises were attended to. Her head was also bandaged. She used her hand to trace her face, the back of her head, everything was done. Her tummy felt weigh down, like a little weight on it.

She looked down to see an arm, she traced the arm to the side of the bed. Damaris slept right next to her.

Audrey gently removed her hand from her body then crawl out of the bed. Before she left, she tucked her in properly.

Audrey picked her sandals by the side of the bed, gently walked to the door. She opened the room door quietly, looked both ways to see if anyone was coming before she stepped out.

She had already walked half way to the stairs,"Aren't you meant to be in bed?", someone spoke, but she ignored and kept walking.

Immediately she got down from the stairs, she rushed towards the entrance door, but as pulled on it - it was locked.

"Shoot!", she cursed.

She squatted down, clenching her head softly.

"How am I gonna get home now?", she asked herself , then she realized she didn't take her bag with her.

"Argh!", she screamed silently.

"Doctor said you needed lots of rest and no form of stress".

Audrey turned back to see a guy standing a bit far behind her. He was light skinned, he had dark brown hair with blue highlights, he wore a singlet that hugged his body, and loose sleeping trousers.

"I want to go home", she said standing up from her position.

"When you're fully healed", he said still standing far from her.

"Tomorrow then", Audrey said walking towards where he stood. He stood by the door leading to the main parlor. Right now she was in the meeting room.

As she got to him, she felt a harsh headache that almost made her collapse if Tyson didn't hold her in time.

"I'll carry you back to Damaris's room", he said picking Audrey off the ground before she could protest.

"Put me down, I'm fine ", she struggled but he was way stronger than her.

She didn't have the strength to struggle out, so she let him carry her up stairs.

He felt so familiar, the warmth of his body, the way he spoke. She felt as if she knew him, but where and how does she know him from.

Nostalgia or am I imagining things, she asked herself.

They finally reached Damaris's room, Tyson dropped her right in front of the door.

"Thank you", Audrey said In a low voice.

"You're welcome princess", he replied.

Ew did he just call me princess?, Audrey asked herself walking into the room.

Damaris had occupied the whole space.

So she grabbed a pillow from the bed and laid on the sofa by her big window, it was so big anyone could sneak out from it.

The night view was pleasant, the cool breeze coming from the open window, the stars glittering in the sky, the moon high and bright. Most especially the warmth of getting to see her father after all this years.

It didn't take long before she fell asleep.
