There is less amount of qi in the lower realm so many cultivatiors wait for the secret realm to open to gather the cultivation treasures for solidating their cultivation but due to secret realm being dangerous most of the cultivatiors die there. Cultivation is divided into nine phases: Qi refining, Foundation Building, Golden core, Nascent Soul, Spirit Severing, Form Separation, Form Completion, Mahayana, Tribulation Crossing, and Great Completion. Only Qi refining has 9 levels but other phases has three stages: early stage, middle stage and late stage. After completing all the phases then the person can ascend to the immortal realm which is also known as middle realm. Immortal realm has also stages for ascending to last third realm know as god realm which we will talk about it in another chapter. The mission this time is the person whose name is Xiang Tian.
