Chapter 3: Musutafu
The scenery was beautiful. A golden sunset lit the tall mountains, and vast rice fields.
And amidst ut all was our currently annoyed Mc.
'Damn it, why won't anyone give me a ride!'
Logan had been trying for the past 10 minutes to hail a car to hitchhike.
He knew that it's because he looks like a dangerous murder-hobo, but come on!
'First thing I'm going to do when I get to Musutafu is get some new clothes.'
Speaking of, i guess powers are normal here. Their called quirks and based on those teens they are really varied.
This made Logan happy, 'This means I don't have to worry about being experimented on like the original Shy Guy, and I can live a somewhat normal life.'
On the slow walk Logan gets progressively more and more board, so I decide to test some things.
I take a deep breath, grit my teeth, and then punch myself as hard as I can in the face.
I struggle not to scream as i feel my face deform, though it only lasted for a second.
I sighed in relief as my MAX Lvl vitality kicked in, I could feel my face reform and stitch itself back together.
I looked at my status and smiled, i gained a resistance to both blunt damage and pain.
'This is a perfect!' I grinned to myself.
Then i grimaced, that was a mistake now i look like a serial killer. Blood was now soaking his mask and rivulets ran down his chest. I glumly walked into the woods, now i cant show myself unless i want the police called on me. I stopped a few dozen feet into the woods, it was to where i could still see the road but the shadows of the trees concealed me. I continued to train untill i reached a break in the trees, that must be it. In front of me was a large sprawling city, it was dark out so the skyline was illuminated by the countless lights of highrise buildings and street lights. I quickly calculated the distance from me to the nearest building and found that it will take a few minutes to get there.
I sighed, still have a ways to go. I grinned, not every thing was bad though, i looked at my increased RES stats and a compleatly new skill,
--------
Blunt RES: 1% -> 13%
Tear RES: 0% -> 7%
Pierce RES: 0% -> 7%
Crush RES: 0% -> 4%
Pain RES: 1% -> 21%
--------
I grimaced, it hurt like a bitch training this stat but i think it was worth it. Blunt force training was hard enough with having to repeatedly break bones, but to train Tear, Pierce, and Crush i litterally tore into my own flesh with my teeth. Honetly, if pain RES didn't exist i wouldn't be training like this. Maybe i shouldent rip off chunks of my own flesh?... nah its such good exp that i just cant pass up.
Even if i look like a cannibal now.
The skills are pretty good to,
---------
MASOCHIST
When damaged increase STR and DEX by 5%+ (scales with damage taken up to 20%)
--------
CQC (Brawling) Lv.3
You know how to throw a punch, and thats about it. Increase unarmed damage by 3%
--------
Something that I noticed was that with my RES stats rising my body was changing. As in i could see and feel little armour like plates form under my skin, so that's cool.
Anyway, by the time i finally reached the city the sun has been set for hours and the moon is high in the sky.
I find myself wandering empty city streets looking for clothes.
'Well mostly empty'
I quickly jump into an alleyway as a car drives by. I look around and immediately am assaulted by the smell.
--------
Stench RES: 0% -> 1%
--------
There is a massive pile of rotting trash a bit down the alley, the smell so putrid managed to gain a RES point. The ally goes further beyond the buildings and branches into a T, but what gets my attention is that not two feet away is exactly what i was looking for.
There's a rusted metal door but what my eyes zero in on is the innocuolus, small, sign that reads 'OLD NAVY'.
A grin spread across my face, 'Jackpot!'
I walked up to the door and looked around. As soon as i saw there was no one nearby, i ripped the door of its hinges.
I was now grinning like a loon at my streingth, 'Awesome'
I stepped through the door and got to work.
----------------------------------------
An hour and change later and i was leaving the way i came in looking significantly better.
First i cleaned myself of blood in the restroom, then i made sure to wreck the security room. Dont want any recordings of my face, and as a bonus it gets rid of evidence.
After all that i finally found some clothes to wear. I thought it would be difficult to find some clothes that fit me, but they had an entire section for strangly shaped people with "mutant quirks".
But anyway, I put on a decent outfit of dark blue jeans, a black shirt, and a bomber jacket, and to top it all off was a luchador mask.
As i left i couldent help thinking to myself that things are looking up. And of course this is where the world decided to prove me wrong.
"Stop right there"
I grimmace, "Well Shit"
