Over the hills and far away in a little rural village in the middle of nowhere. There be a young lad walking whilst gazing at the sky and hills that stretches before him.
Little does the young man know of the depths of hell he is approaching but with the power of pure density he strides toward the final end. In front of the young man lays a task of Herculean proportions. Today is the day he meets his partner's parents. But with nerves of steel (or ignorance the density of steel) he focuses his gaze on the final challenge.
The inner voices build and that shit eating grin plasters itself across his face due to the immense nerves felt at this moment. His hand reaches out to knock, BUT at the last minute the door opens. All brain capacity activates to avoid this awkward situation.
By sheer luck alone his hand is at shaking height so with renewed vigour he went for a hand shake and adorned the most friendly smile he could.
"Hello sir, you must be Hailey's Dad".
Dad POV-
"Today is the day. My girl. The most important aspect of my life is introducing me to her first boyfriend. Now as she is 17 she has every right to be in a relationship with another 17 boy. However if this bastard thinks I'm going to let MY DAUGHTER, MY MOST IMPORTANT EVERYTHING, be graced upon easily he's got another thing coming." However before this internal monologue continues.
"Daaaaaaad, he's not far off now so be ready to greet him and I swear if you bully him, my shy boy, expect me to move in with him! SLAM!"
Now, for a Dad, there is few things that scare a man greater than the thought of child moving in with a partner whom is an unknown to him. This threat alone caused an icicle to form on his back.
"Hmmmm, quick think you thick headed man. What was his name, oh fuck, what's his fucking name. Ohhh fuck it, what else, oh shit he's a lumber jack from the hills. Errr, errr, ahhhh yeah he's meant to be a big lad I've heard from Garry at the pub. Right fuck this internal monologue and LETS FUCKING DO THIS. FOR HAILEY". The final internal war cry as he opens the door to greet the first challenger.
"WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT!." A great thought displays itself as what could only be described as giant bear. Standing at 8.15ft tall and its great paw was reaching out for him.
"Accept the Paw John, ACCEPT IT!". His inner thoughts powered him forward once again.
"Hello lad, I'm John Bastion, who might you be?"
Boyfriend POV-
"I'm Viduus Styx, a pleasure to meet you John. Is Hailey about, the lass said that she wanted to introduce me to you and your wife." After saying that, as if by magic, Hailey appears behind John.
"VID" Hailey uses Suprise Attack!
The surprise embrace from Hailey catches me by surprise but it takes a fraction for me to return it and pick her up and comfortably place her in my embrace.
From my embrace, Hailey looks at her Dad "show us in Dad, I wanna show Vid the house."
John returns inside with myself and Hailey close behind.
"What have you got in the bag, big blue?" Hailey looks at me with a smile that could light a dark night.
"I thought it would be inappropriate of me to come without a gift for you and your family." As I say this I put down a reluctant Hailey and open my black hiking bag. Inside is a beautiful elk skin and a small pouch at the bottom made of leather
'Whistles' "that's a fine pelt you got their lad, you hunt that yourself?" Asks John with a happily surprised look on his face.
"Yes sir I did," I say happily, "although it was small at around half a ton it had a high-quality pelt. I filled my large freezer at home with it's meat and organs for winter due to how terrible its gonna be this year like but the bones should be used for making bits at home. To get back on topic I
nailed the bugger with my custom now at around 300 meters away on the side of the broken mountains about 200 miles away from town North West."
Hailey unrolls the pelt across the floor showing off it's deep brown head but snow-white body colouration.
As she does this I reach into the bag and retrieve the leather pouch.
"Hailey, this is for you" I say and gently throw to her.
"What's in this Vid," She asks while looking the pouch over once.
"A special gift for you my darling," I say and gently smile at her causing a deep red blush to spread across her face. She looks down to hide it but also looks in the bag. From the bag she draws out a red bracelet.
"Thank you so much, I love you"
A warmth that rivals the sun spread throughout my body hearing that but as I'm in the presence of her father I must control myself.
" I made it from one of the antlers and cared the beads myself. I had to ask an older hunter in town how to dye the beads but he helped me for free after I told him it was for you."
"Vid, what does 'tenetur in perpetuum simul' mean?" she asks inquisitively after seeing the carvings on the beads.
"It means bound together forever," I say quietly whilst looking at her dead in the eyes.
She approaches and hugs me deeply but pulls me down to her height.
"Thank you," she says quietly into my ear before kissing me dead on the lips.
"COUGH, Ahem" two rather red faces turn quickly to face John, Hailey's Dad.
"haha, sorry John," I say rather apologetically as I take his daughter into my embrace to hide her extreme embarrassment.
