Chapter 337: How Can It Work Without Someone Drawing Fire?
"No?"
"You don't seriously think this campaign will be over in two or three days, do you?"
Lin Feng looked at the three men calmly.
Chen Taotao, Da Shan, and Fong Chin-Bor all lowered their heads.
"I don't need to tell you how massive Tycoon Group is."
"Nor do I need to prattle on about how strong his backing is, or how influential the various directors of the group company are… You all know these things better than I do."
"Do you really think you can bring Tycoon Group into your fold just by working overtime for a few days?"
"Wake up!"
Chen Taotao couldn't help but say,
"Mr. Lin, didn't you say you wanted me to create the world's largest hedge fund? This is our chance."
"By devouring Tycoon Group, we can complete our initial capital accumulation…"
Lin Feng cut him off without ceremony:
"I only ask you, when can you complete the suppression of Tycoon Group?"
"You should know how important Tycoon Group is to all parties, right?"
"Tell me a timeframe?"
Chen Taotao was silent for a while before saying,
"If it's just simple suppression, then I need a month."
"If it's an acquisition… the situation is uncertain."
"Maybe a year, maybe three years."
Lin Feng clapped his hands:
"Well, there you have it!"
"This isn't a task for one or two weeks, nor can it be completed in one or two months."
"This is a long-term task."
"I need you to analyze and judge with sufficient rationality, not with blind passion."
"Passion comes and goes quickly."
"The secretion of adrenaline will give you a false sense of strength."
"This can easily hurt people and hearts!"
Chen Taotao and the other two lowered their heads in shame.
Lin Feng said gently,
"You haven't been working for me for long, but I want to tell you, we are all young, and we have a very, very long time to work together."
"Having a good body is the most important thing."
"Zhan Bo is young, but Da Shan, you're already middle-aged, can you keep up like him?"
"And Chen Taotao, you're already injured; can you really push your body like this?"
"All of you, get some proper rest!"
"Go back and tidy yourselves up."
"At least you're in finance, you should look sophisticated!"
Chen Taotao looked at Da Shan and Fong Chin-Bor and suddenly realized that it was indeed true.
These two certainly didn't look the part.
"Mr. Lin, we will rest up properly."
"However, since the current task isn't finished, according to our rules, we still have to stay here."
Da Shan also said,
"Mr. Lin, I know you mean well, but the rules of our line of work are like this."
"When we encounter a big job, to prevent leaks, all communication devices are confiscated."
"Eating, drinking, and using the restroom must all be done within specific rooms."
"Until the task is completed."
Chen Taotao nodded repeatedly:
"Mr. Lin, rules cannot be broken."
Lin Feng glared at them:
"Did I say I wanted to break your rules?"
"Nam Tsai!"
Nam Tsai had been waiting outside. Hearing Lin Feng's call, he immediately came in:
"Brother Feng, your orders."
Lin Feng instructed,
"Clear out the adjoining hospital rooms, ones with private bathrooms, for Da Shan and Zhan Bo to use."
"They must be connected to this room."
"Any problems?"
Nam Tsai immediately said,
"No problem at all!"
Lin Feng nodded with satisfaction:
"Excellent!"
"I want them to be using them tonight."
Nam Tsai took off running:
"I'll go arrange it right away."
When Brother Feng spoke, naturally, whatever he wanted, he got.
Lin Feng glanced at Li Fu, who immediately went to the door to keep watch.
"I know you've all been doing great work lately."
"I haven't discussed the earnings with you yet."
"Now is the time."
The trio of Chen Taotao, Da Shan, and Fong Chin-Bor looked at each other, and the former said,
"Mr. Lin, no rush, right?"
Lin Feng shook his head:
"My rule has always been this: reward for merit, punishment for fault."
"If you do well, you should be rewarded."
"I cannot break my own rules."
"Previously, your team earned a total profit of one billion hong kong dollars."
"Ten percent is yours, to be distributed by Tao Tao according to team contribution."
"Any problems?"
Chen Taotao was shocked:
"Mr. Lin, isn't ten percent too much?"
Lin Feng snorted coldly:
"You don't need to teach me how to distribute it."
Chen Taotao immediately shut up, yet there was no displeasure on his face, only joy.
Da Shan and Fong Chin-Bor had the same expression.
One hundred million hong kong dollars!
Divided among three, even if it were the least, there would still be tens of millions, right?
This was like an antique business that doesn't open for three years but makes enough to live on for three years when it does; it was incredibly satisfying.
Who wouldn't want to earn more money?
Lin Feng continued:
"As for the targeting of Tycoon Group, five percent of the profit is yours."
"This money will be distributed to you after the project is completed. Any problems?"
The three replied in unison:
"No problem!"
The latter was a normal profit distribution.
Lin Feng said slowly,
"You don't need to worry about security. This is Triad Hospital, so naturally, my Hung Hing people will escort you."
"Starting tonight, Thunder Security personnel will take over your protection."
"In other words, your security will be much higher than even the Governor's."
Chen Taotao immediately relaxed.
With tight security, there was no need to worry about the plan leaking. In reality, he wasn't worried at all.
Not worrying is one thing, but he was still afraid of mistakes.
Lin Feng's arrangement relieved a huge burden from his mind.
Chen Taotao said seriously,
"Mr. Lin, rest assured, we will complete this task well…"
"Actually, we've also gained quite a bit."
Lin Feng said casually,
"How much have you gained?"
Da Shan excitedly said, "Tycoon Group lost ten percent of its market value this time, and we acquired at least half of that."
Chen Taotao smiled:
"Mr. Lin, we had enough capital. The moment you gave the order, I aggressively shorted their stocks. In just two days, we devoured a full five billion hong kong dollars from them."
Lin Feng secretly calculated, good heavens, a direct doubling.
"This business, I'll also give you ten percent."
Chen Taotao was stunned and hurriedly politely declined:
"Mr. Lin, that's too much."
Lin Feng waved his hand:
"When you're out in the world, the most important thing is rules."
"With clear rewards and punishments, you can do things well."
"Unclear rules, that's when things get messy."
"Alright, that's how it is. As for the specific shares, you four can divide them yourselves."
Chen Taotao had no choice but to say gratefully,
"Thank you, Mr. Lin."
Lin Feng reminded:
"Currently, Tycoon is in dire straits. We caught them off guard."
"Once they recover, regardless of whether Tycoon can get out, the members of Tycoon Group's board of directors, even if only for their own benefit, will retaliate."
"You must be careful."
Chen Taotao smiled:
"Mr. Lin, you know best, I am the most prudent in my actions!"
Lin Feng rolled his eyes:
"The King of All-In telling me he's prudent in his actions?"
Chen Taotao gave an awkward smile.
"However, your skills are the most seasoned, and Zhan Bo has keen intuition."
"Coupled with Da Shan's ability to find and fix flaws, your team is a perfect match."
"Normally, a project this big should have more people assigned to you."
"But that's not possible now."
"Only you few will have to work hard."
"Of course, Ting Ting will also come to help."
"So, I remind you again, health is the most important thing."
"This is a very long war."
Chen Taotao and the other two nodded repeatedly in agreement.
Just then, Nam Tsai rushed back:
"Brother Feng, it's all arranged."
Lin Feng smiled and nodded:
"Thank you for your hard work."
He didn't stay there any longer.
"Alright, I'm leaving."
"Nam Tsai, you're in charge of Tao Tao and the others' meals recently. Give them whatever they want."
"Try to arrange for our Triad people to do it."
Nam Tsai nodded vigorously:
"I'll have the best chefs from our Triad prepare it."
Chen Taotao was very curious:
"Mr. Lin, Hung Hing even has chefs?"
Nam Tsai smiled:
"Our Hung Hing not only has the best hospitals, but also the best restaurants."
Those restaurants were compensation given to him by other Triads when Lin Feng led the charge to take down Chung Ching Society.
Chen Taotao exclaimed admiringly:
"Hung Hing's business is truly massive."
Lin Feng said,
"Tao Tao, if you need anything, just tell Nam Tsai directly, and he'll take care of it for you."
"If he can't solve it, then I will."
Chen Taotao smiled:
"Mr. Lin, rest assured, our demands are very low."
Lin Feng smiled:
"If I come next time and see you like this again, I'll skin you alive!"
Chen Taotao quickly said, "We guarantee it will be clean and neat."
Lin Feng burst into laughter and left with Li Fu.
However, as soon as he got back into the car, Wong Bing-Yiu called: "Mr. Lin, thank you."
Lin Feng wondered, "Thank me?"
Wong Bing-Yiu chuckled, "Thank you for taking action and eliminating Tsukamoto Eiji and the little devils he brought."
Lin Feng smiled, "Chen sir also contributed quite a bit."
Wong Bing-Yiu was nonchalant, "He's a police officer, so it's his duty to contribute."
"But honestly, if it weren't for your intervention, we might have had several more brothers injured."
"These devils truly deserve to die."
"Oh, and I also have to thank you for the hitman list Chen sir brought back."
"Thanks to that list, otherwise, our brothers wouldn't have just been injured."
Lin Feng was extremely surprised, "You acted immediately?"
Wong Bing-Yiu said as a matter of course, "Of course!"
"Top-ranked assassins from around the world swarming into Hong Kong, if they commit a crime and then just leave, who can tolerate that?"
"The Chiefs from our several major districts joined forces, and all our detectives were dispatched."
"Overall, progress has been very smooth."
Lin Feng wondered, "Overall... what does that mean?"
Wong Bing-Yiu said expressionlessly, "Weren't there assassins?"
"Some brothers sacrificed their lives when they engaged them..."
"They sacrificed their lives right at the start of the engagement; those bounty hunters are truly ruthless."
Lin Feng sighed inwardly.
Wong Bing-Yiu perked up, "All in all, we made a huge profit!"
"And it's all thanks to you."
Lin Feng shook his head, "No need to rush to thank me."
"That's what you police officers earned through your own hard work and dedication."
Wong Bing-Yiu said seriously, "Regardless, I must thank you for your intelligence. If it weren't for your intelligence, we would have suffered greater casualties."
"As long as these assassins are apprehended, I'll be able to sleep soundly."
Lin Feng sighed, "You want to sleep soundly? I think it's basically impossible."
Wong Bing-Yiu was startled, "Impossible?"
"Why impossible?"
Lin Feng shrugged, "A strike wave is coming soon, and you'll have to maintain order."
"You should understand, if the strikes spread everywhere, the entire Hong Kong will fall into chaos."
Wong Bing-Yiu was greatly surprised, "Strikes?"
"How could that be?"
Lin Feng asked curiously, "Why not?"
Wong Bing-Yiu frowned, "There's no reason!"
"The Anglo-Saxons are currently making frantic overtures to Hong Kong citizens; they've done more in this past year than in the previous ninety years combined."
"Are they not living good lives and specifically thinking of striking?"
"Are they crazy!"
Lin Feng smiled, "Chief Huang, where has your keen insight gone?"
Wong Bing-Yiu asked puzzled, "Mr. Lin, please explain clearly."
Lin Feng sighed, but still said, "Then I'll be frank."
"What's the biggest event in Hong Kong these past two days?"
Wong Bing-Yiu casually said, "Of course, it's the attack on Grand Duke Andrei."
Lin Feng spat, "Grand Duke Andrei has already returned to the Anglo-Saxons, and you're still thinking about him?"
"It's not about him."
Wong Bing-Yiu thought for a moment and said, "Then it's Tycoon being called in for investigation, right?"
He suddenly froze, his expression quite subtle, "Could this matter really be related to him?"
Lin Feng asked, "Which matter?"
Wong Bing-Yiu exclaimed, "Naturally, it's the attack on Grand Duke Andrei."
"I remember you told me that Grand Duke Andrei's attack was related to Tycoon."
"I didn't expect it to be true."
Lin Feng said speechlessly, "Don't talk nonsense. When did I ever tell you such things?"
"I clearly said that the bearer bonds in Grand Duke Andrei's briefcase were given by Tycoon."
Wong Bing-Yiu sneered, "Do you take me for a fool!"
"If it weren't for Tycoon's connections, why would he be taken away for investigation?"
"I heard that Tycoon is currently detained at the Garrison base, and no one is allowed to see him."
"This clearly indicates a major connection."
Lin Feng said helplessly, "Think whatever you want."
Wong Bing-Yiu was old and cunning, "No wonder there will be strikes. Tycoon is trying to save himself!"
Lin Feng reminded him, "What are you thinking? Tycoon is locked up at the Garrison; he can't get out."
Wong Bing-Yiu nodded repeatedly, "That's true."
"Then this is how Tycoon Group plans to save Tycoon."
"These people are really causing trouble!"
"Thank you, Mr. Lin. If it weren't for your reminder, we would be in big trouble."
Lin Feng sighed, "Even if you prepare, what's the use? All the troubles that are meant to happen will happen."
Wong Bing-Yiu was greatly surprised, "Mr. Lin, what do you mean?"
Lin Feng simply said, "You only know that this is Tycoon Group's counterattack, but you've forgotten who they are counterattacking."
"Conflict is never a one-sided affair."
"Otherwise, it's not conflict; it's bullying."
"Do you really think they don't have a backup plan?"
Wong Bing-Yiu frowned, "You mean?"
Lin Feng shrugged, "Since we have a good relationship, I'll give you another free piece of information today."
Wong Bing-Yiu repeatedly said, "Mr. Lin, please speak..."
Lin Feng whispered, "People will die during Tycoon Group's protests these next two days!"
What?!
The soft words fell into Wong Bing-Yiu's ears like a clap of thunder.
"Dead people?"
"How could there be dead people?"
Lin Feng didn't elaborate, "I've already told you what needed to be said. If protests really break out, have your brothers fully armed."
"Lest they lose their lives!"
Bang!
He hung up the phone.
Wong Bing-Yiu was completely stunned.
Mass protest?
People will die?
And police officers need to be fully armed?
After connecting these keywords, Wong Bing-Yiu was drenched in sweat!
Not good!
Something big is about to happen!
If either side of this conflict has an incident, it's a huge problem.
Wong Bing-Yiu dared not delay and quickly called several Chiefs he knew.
"Old Lin, it's me..."
"Old Ren, it's me..."
These calls lasted until early morning.
After Li Fu dropped Lin Feng off at home, he asked puzzled before leaving, "Brother Feng, why did you remind Chief Huang about such a thing?"
Lin Feng replied, "Not only will I tell Chief Huang, but I'll also tell the Triads I know."
"You heard what I said earlier. Go and inform Brother Kun first."
"Tell him, regarding the mass protest, whoever wants to get involved can get involved. Our Hung Hing will stick to our own territory and not participate in such matters."
Li Fu nodded, "I'll call Boss Ding right away."
Lin Feng added, "Also inform the other Triads: Sun Luen Shing, Wo Luen Shing, Tung Sing, and also Hung Yee."
"Don't worry about the others."
Li Fu concentrated and wrote it down.
"Our own several halls: Mong Kok, Causeway Bay, Sham Shui Po, Yuen Long, also need to be informed. Strictly forbid anyone from getting involved in such matters."
"This is going to involve deaths and bloodshed; it's clearly a major upheaval."
"We absolutely cannot get involved."
"Otherwise, when things settle down and reckoning comes, it will be big trouble."
Li Fu frowned, "But isn't our most important goal right now to acquire Tycoon Group?"
Lin Feng gently shook his head, "Acquiring Tycoon is easier said than done. The big players behind him are not just one or two."
"My primary goal isn't to acquire Tycoon."
Li Fu asked curiously, "Then what is your goal?"
Lin Feng said calmly, "I want to cripple him and then raise sufficient funds."
Li Fu said in surprise, "Oh, how is that different from an acquisition?"
Lin Feng smiled, "I want the silver, not Tycoon Group."
"That group of his involves almost every vested interest in Hong Kong."
"Who would want to play with something so complicated?"
"Don't forget, we have our own mission — to reorganize Hung Hing!"
Li Fu always felt that these two things could go hand in hand and was about to persuade him when he heard Lin Feng say chillingly, "If Hong Kong doesn't get a little chaotic, who will draw the firepower for us?"
"If Tycoon Group doesn't fall into disarray, wouldn't we encounter great trouble in harvesting them?"
Li Fu was suddenly startled,
+++
Chapter 338: A Vicious Lesson
"Uncle Shen, the Tycoon Group's stock price has already fallen by 15%... and it's still falling..."
Little Tycoon, sweating profusely, pleaded with Mr. Shen for help.
"What are you panicking about?"
Mr. Shen looked at Little Tycoon with great dissatisfaction.
"Your most important task now is only one: quickly take the money to London and rescue your father!"
"With your father here, the Tycoon Group won't collapse. Those stock prices will eventually rise back up."
"If your father isn't here, do you think you can protect the Group yourself?"
Mr. Shen completely ignored Little Tycoon's resentful and awkward gaze.
"You have to admit, your father's talent is a hundred times greater than yours, and his connections are also a hundred times greater than yours."
"Everything hinges on your father."
"As long as he's rescued, all problems are not problems."
Compared to Little Tycoon, Mr. Shen was very calm. He lectured the other party while smoking a cigar, completely like a father scolding his son.
"I'm naturally not as good as my father..." Little Tycoon said, feeling wronged, "I just wanted to protect the Group while he's away..."
"Protect?" Mr. Shen looked at Little Tycoon with amusement.
"...At least maintain it." Little Tycoon really couldn't stand Mr. Shen's playful gaze. He secretly hated in his heart that such a gaze was too annoying.
"You don't understand..." Mr. Shen said seriously, "Don't think about the Group's matters. You're just an executive vice president. It's good for the Group's stock price to fall a little."
"Ah?" Little Tycoon was completely bewildered. It's good if it falls a little more?
Do you have a grudge against our family?
It's always been the higher the stock price, the better. How is it that in your tone, a falling stock price is a good thing?
"What on earth are you thinking about?"
Mr. Shen saw through Little Tycoon's thoughts at a glance.
"I don't have a grudge against you."
"If there truly was a grudge, I wouldn't have given the Tycoon Group to your father."
Little Tycoon was speechless.
That's right, the Tycoon Group's predecessor was a foreign firm, and Mr. Shen was managing it at the time.
Their family getting the Tycoon Group was truly a windfall.
Not only that, Mr. Shen, fearing that their family wouldn't have enough money to operate, even gave them an interest-free loan of one hundred thousand pounds!
It was no exaggeration to say that the man in front of him was their family's benefactor.
"Uncle Shen, I don't understand."
Little Tycoon asked honestly.
Mr. Shen put down his cigar and straightened his posture:
"Your father and I are close friends, and we meet often. Since your father is in trouble, I must teach you a lesson about life."
"Please instruct me, Uncle Shen." Little Tycoon quickly asked for guidance.
"Your attitude is very good." Mr. Shen was very satisfied with Little Tycoon's attitude. "There are two reasons."
"Firstly, with your father in trouble, if the stock price were to soar, that would be a joke. It must fall."
"The Tycoon Group is crucial to Hong Kong's economy. If the stock price doesn't fall sharply, employees demonstrating in the streets actually can't be done."
"This doesn't make sense."
"Even to put pressure on the Governors Office and London, the Tycoon Group's stock price must fall."
Little Tycoon was stunned.
"These losses of interest are necessary, they are essential. If these interests are not lost, how can we put pressure on the Governors Office and London?"
"But..." Little Tycoon completely didn't understand, "Shouldn't it be that the stronger the Group, the more hesitant they are to act?"
When he said this, Little Tycoon's face was full of bewilderment.
"You are too young." Mr. Shen was very helpless. He really didn't want to run a kindergarten. He just couldn't understand why Little Tycoon had been brought to sit in on board meetings by Tycoon since he was old enough to remember.
After so many years, why is he still like a newcomer to society?
"Do you know what our interests in Hong Kong are?"
Mr. Shen thought to himself, 'Forget it, for his father's sake, I'll guide him.'
"Amassing wealth!" Little Tycoon answered without hesitation, "Amassing wealth for our Anglo-Saxon Empire!"
Snap!
Mr. Shen snapped his fingers.
"Absolutely correct!"
"Let me tell you a little secret: the London government is about to go bankrupt."
Ah?
Little Tycoon was greatly surprised:
"The Empire will go bankrupt?"
"Yes, will the Empire go bankrupt?" Mr. Shen's expression darkened. "Twenty years ago, anyone who said that would definitely be a madman."
"However, now, the Empire is truly going bankrupt."
"The Falklands War, how many days did it last, and it almost bankrupted the government."
"Now, the bigwigs in London are desperately trying to draw blood from the colonies."
"Hong Kong is the top priority."
"It cannot be lost."
"And the Tycoon Group is the key of keys."
"Our stock price has fallen, our Group is about to go bankrupt, and the Empire's profits will inevitably be lost a lot."
"No one can bear the responsibility of losing the Pearl of the Orient."
"Do you understand?"
"So my family is that important?!" Little Tycoon suddenly realized, and after understanding, he felt a strange sense of pride.
Mr. Shen was exceptionally speechless.
Is it your family that's important?
It's your father who's important.
"Then what's the second reason?" Little Tycoon's spirits lifted.
With the first reason, he felt completely relieved.
The Empire needs finances, so their family absolutely cannot afford to be lost.
London absolutely cannot bear such a loss.
Their Tycoon Group is equivalent to the Empire's profits in Hong Kong.
"Do you think the stock price fall is normal?" Mr. Shen, however, changed the subject.
"The stock price fall isn't normal?" Little Tycoon was instantly stunned.
"Oh, you have a lot to learn." Mr. Shen thought to himself, 'What a headache. How did Tycoon raise his son? Why haven't I seen any ruthlessness in him?'
"If the stock price doesn't fall, how will the Group's board members absorb shares?"
"It's always buy low and sell high; I've never heard of it the other way around." Mr. Shen said meaningfully.
"What? Inside traitors?!" Little Tycoon was furious. "How can they do this?"
"The Group was clearly managed by my father, they enjoyed the benefits, and at a critical moment, instead of working together, they stabbed him in the back!"
Little Tycoon's face turned red with anger.
"Shut up!" Mr. Shen waved his hand, interrupting his anger.
"I said, these losses are necessary. To make a dog work, you naturally have to give it a little treat."
"If they don't have motivation, how will they work together to save your father?"
"Are you counting on yourself?"
Little Tycoon was instantly silenced.
"All the Group's directors are old foxes."
"If others don't know the Group's operating performance, don't they know it either?"
"These guys have wanted to increase their holdings in the Group's stock for a long time."
"However, the Group's stock has been appreciating, and they have no way to acquire shares."
"Now is a rare opportunity, so they naturally want the Group's stock price to fall more."
"Otherwise, they can't afford such a large cost."
"Do you understand?"
Little Tycoon shook his head vigorously:
"I kind of understand, and kind of don't."
Mr. Shen shrugged:
"You should check the changes in the shareholding ratios of the directors under your command."
"It's very easy to check; as long as it exceeds a certain percentage, a change announcement will be published."
Little Tycoon started gritting his teeth again.
"This is a good thing!" In Little Tycoon's disbelieving gaze, Mr. Shen said so.
"When dogs get a treat, at this point, what they want is to protect their treat."
"The stock price will not fall any further; if it falls further, it will harm their interests."
"Before, Tycoon used to do these things. Now that he is in trouble, who do you think will do them?"
Little Tycoon suddenly realized:
"These directors will take action?"
Mr. Shen burst out laughing:
"If they don't want their interests to be harmed, they will inevitably take action."
"Like what?" Little Tycoon suddenly got excited.
"Like what?" Mr. Shen looked at him with a strange expression. "What else is there to 'like'?"
"Whether your father is free or not concerns the success or failure of the Tycoon Group."
"So, those dogs, to protect their own interests, will do everything possible to rescue your father."
"Similarly, those dogs, to protect their own interests, will definitely unite to prop up the stock price."
"You don't need to worry about external enemies."
"These dogs, for their own interests, will also unite and tear apart any claws that dare to reach for the Tycoon Group."
"No matter who takes action, they will definitely have to get past them."
"If they can't hold on, then it's no big deal."
"I will take action!"
When Mr. Shen said these words, it was natural, without a hint of bragging.
Little Tycoon was awestruck by Mr. Shen's aura.
Although the other party's voice wasn't loud, and his attitude wasn't arrogant, when he calmly spoke those words, Little Tycoon was truly suppressed.
Completely and utterly suppressed.
"Uncle Shen, you truly are a benefactor to my family."
"From now on, please teach me more!"
Little Tycoon said, bowing solemnly.
Mr. Shen was very satisfied with his attitude; this was the proper demeanor for a new generation, humble, polite, and loyal to the Empire.
"You don't need to worry about external enemies."
"With those directors and me, they won't be a problem."
"I'll call headquarters, and your check will be cashable immediately!"
"Thank you, Uncle Shen," Little Tycoon said, overjoyed, as this had helped him greatly.
"The nobles of the Empire are all ruthless individuals who devour people whole. Their appetites are larger than you can imagine."
"When you go this time, you must keep a low profile and act cautiously."
"Isn't that how it should be?" Little Tycoon found it strange that Mr. Shen would say that.
Mr. Shen had a headache again. There were some things he truly didn't want this young man to know; maintaining the Empire's glamorous facade was his responsibility.
However, after thinking carefully, this young man was Tycoon's successor and would sooner or later learn the true face of the Empire. So, it was appropriate to disabuse him of some notions.
"You don't understand. Your father made a big mistake, and these nobles would love to kill him."
Little Tycoon's mood instantly soured, his earlier good spirits vanishing into thin air:
"Uncle Shen, don't scare me."
"My father has always been loyal to the Empire."
"I know he's loyal, otherwise I wouldn't have chosen him." Mr. Shen waved his hand, "It's just that he handled this matter incorrectly."
"He shouldn't have offered Grand Duke Andrei such a large stake."
"I know he wanted the Canadian port project... he was too impatient."
"Uncle Shen, ports are scarce resources; there are very few available port resources worldwide for construction." Little Tycoon couldn't help but defend Tycoon,
"As long as our Group can secure this project, it will be a continuous source of immense wealth in the future."
"This is a major project where we can make money effortlessly."
Mr. Shen rolled his eyes in a very undignified manner:
"I'm not questioning Tycoon's investment; I'm questioning the lobbyist he hired."
"He shouldn't have gone to Grand Duke Andrei."
"And he certainly shouldn't have given Grand Duke Andrei fifty million pounds."
"This disrupts the lobbying prices in London."
"Once his price came out, almost all the nobles lost a significant source of income from lobbying."
"Grand Duke Andrei usually only gets a maximum of one million pounds."
"But your father directly gave him fifty times that amount!"
"This implicitly set a threshold."
"Capitalists who wanted to ask the great nobles for help would no longer approach them. With that much money, it would be more cost-effective to directly fund a politician's election."
"If this deal hadn't been exposed, nothing would have happened."
"Unfortunately, there are no 'ifs'."
"This deal was exposed."
"We have no other choice but to willingly let the nobles extort us."
"As I just said, the stock price drop isn't the problem. Compared to the stock price, London is the real problem."
"If you don't feed them until they're half-full, they'll completely devour the entire Tycoon Group."
Little Tycoon's face turned pale with fright; he had never thought about things in that way.
"Uncle Shen, how much money should I bring?"
Little Tycoon quickly asked for advice.
"Even ordinary people know that a poor family needs a rich road, let alone you, who are going to save your father. Of course, you should bring as much as you can." Mr. Shen said without hesitation.
"But the board of directors won't allow it." Little Tycoon hesitated.
"See, the benefit of the stock price drop is showing again, isn't it?" Mr. Shen said calmly, "The safety of the Tycoon Group rests on your father alone."
"The board won't object."
"Even dogs will fight for their food bowl."
Mr. Shen was confident.
Little Tycoon suddenly understood. So that's how it was.
"Let me ask you, have the arrangements for the Group's protest march been made?"
"They've been arranged." Little Tycoon quickly said, "As soon as I board the plane, they'll start protesting."
"Make sure to pay them enough!" Mr. Shen reminded, "Hong Kong people are materialistic; without enough money, they won't do anything."
"Even Triad turf wars require 'tea money', let alone street protests."
"Give them wages... no, give them triple pay."
"Now is absolutely not the time to save these small amounts of money!"
Little Tycoon nodded repeatedly:
"Yes!"
"I'll arrange it!"
Mr. Shen thought for a moment, then suddenly lowered his voice:
"Do you have any trusted confidants in the Group?"
Little Tycoon nodded repeatedly:
"I do!"
Mr. Shen was still uneasy, so he spoke more directly,
"I'm asking if there's anyone in middle management you absolutely trust?"
"Yes!" Little Tycoon laughed, "Most of my mother's relatives are in middle management."
"Their abilities aren't up to par, so they rely on my family for a living."
"For example, Zhuang Qing, who was taken away for investigation with my father, is one of my maternal cousins."
"There are other maternal cousins like him in the Group."
"Do you have your own trusted people, not your father's?" Mr. Shen clarified directly.
"Yes!" Little Tycoon seemed to understand, "Several of my cousins listen to me."
"Alright..." Mr. Shen whispered, "Choose one of your cousins who is bold, careful, steady, and capable, and have him create some commotion during the protest."
"Create... commotion?" Little Tycoon's mouth felt dry, "I'm planning to have three thousand people march on the streets. Isn't that enough commotion?"
"I'm talking about lives!" Mr. Shen roared in a low voice, "Protests happen every other day; what kind of commotion is that?!"
"Do you think those media reporters will cover such nonsense?"
"Dog bites man isn't news; man bites dog is!"
"Have your cousins act ruthlessly, cause a death, or several deaths."
"Make the protesters clash with the police."
Little Tycoon broke out in a sweat:
"Uncle Shen, this isn't what you said before."
Mr. Shen had clearly been telling him to be peaceful, so why had he suddenly become so fierce?
"Just do as you're told, why so many questions?"
Mr. Shen suddenly became agitated!
Little Tycoon dared not say more.
"I called General Cunningham, and he didn't give me any face at all."
Mr. Shen thought for a moment, then told Little Tycoon the truth.
"Behind Cunningham is the Cunningham Family of the Navy, a very powerful old family."
"It has a heritage of two hundred years."
"I suspect the nobles in London are about to make up their minds."
"This time when you go, you can't always expect them to be lenient."
"Doing business is like fighting a war; you always consider defeat before victory. We need several backup plans."
"If the nobles are unreasonable, then we'll have to put pressure on the London government."
"In that case, our business in London will be very difficult to conduct with the nobles causing trouble..."
"But it's still much better than your father spending his entire life in prison, isn't it?"
Little Tycoon's face changed dramatically, and he quickly said:
"Uncle Shen, you are right."
Mr. Shen frowned:
"I don't want that phrase!"
"Yes, I'll go back immediately and find my cousin." Little Tycoon immediately expressed his attitude. To rescue Tycoon, he was going all out,
"I'll make sure they cause a big commotion during the protest!"
"That's more like it!" Mr. Shen felt completely relieved. Little Tycoon, though naive, was willing to listen to advice, which was a good quality.
"Prepare some tools for them, and tell them to act decisively."
"After it's done, send them away immediately!"
Little Tycoon repeatedly affirmed.
Mr. Shen relaxed:
"I've told you everything I needed to. Go and prepare quickly."
"Nephew bids farewell!" Little Tycoon bowed and left. After leaving the office, he suddenly remembered something he hadn't verified with Mr. Shen.
That was the two hundred million pounds mysteriously missing from their working capital.
Checking the records, it was a check personally issued by Tycoon, so the bank naturally wouldn't refuse to cash it.
Little Tycoon had originally come here to verify this matter, but he had forgotten about it due to the overwhelming intensity of the situation.
He turned to go back in and verify, but then suddenly thought:
"Such a large sum of money moving in and out would surely alarm Uncle Shen. He must know about it."
"Then why should I go back and get scolded again?!"
