Chapter 297: When It's Time to Act, Act
Yue Lu chuckled dryly:
"Every father worries, you know."
Li Fu was both annoyed and amused:
"If I really did something like that, your small frame couldn't stop me."
Yue Lu sighed:
"I'm not a good dad; I'm always causing her trouble."
"Fortunately, she's ambitious; she went to college and even became a lawyer."
Li Fu nodded:
"That's truly remarkable."
There were very few local schools in Xiangjiang, and streaming began at an early age.
Less than one-tenth could get into university, and less than one-tenth of those could become lawyers.
In terms of academic qualifications alone, Qi Qi could be called a dragon among men.
Especially considering a father like Yue Lu, Qi Qi's success truly came from too much effort.
Xiangjiang was a capitalist society and also a society built on connections.
Universities had long formed academic cliques.
The cohesion among alumni and students from the same school and major was simply terrifying.
This was originally a profession for the wealthy to consolidate their rule, but for someone like Qi Qi to pry open a small crack, it was truly remarkable.
No wonder Yue Lu's chest swelled with pride whenever he mentioned his daughter.
Yue Lu asked:
"Are you trying to turn me in for the reward money?"
Li Fu led Yue Lu directly to a seat in the hall on the second floor.
He casually threw him a cigar,
"I snatched it from Brother Feng; it's Cuban, a hundred US dollars a stick."
Yue Lu was surprised:
"That 고급?"
Li Fu taught him how to trim a cigar, how to toast it, how to light it... He blew a smoke ring and asked:
"You're not sleeping well because you're worried about this?"
Yue Lu said dejectedly:
"Otherwise?"
"I can't wash myself clean even if I jump into the Yellow River; I've accepted my fate."
"Now that Qi Qi is taken care of, I thought I had no more worries."
"Originally, I thought I could calmly accept this situation, but when it came down to it, I realized, how could I accept it?"
"I can't accept it!"
"I... I don't want to die!"
Li Fu nodded:
"It's better to live a bad life than to die a good one."
"Who wants to die?"
Yue Lu tentatively asked:
"Must I... die?"
"Can't I not die?"
"I still want to see Qi Qi get married in a wedding dress; I still want to hold my grandchildren."
Li Fu said grumpily:
"What else do you want to do?"
"That's one hundred million US dollars!"
Yue Lu was slightly stunned, his face ashen:
"Yes, that's one hundred million US dollars."
"I even thought about reporting myself; that one hundred million US dollars is really tempting."
"An ordinary person can't earn one hundred million US dollars in a lifetime..."
"Alas, after so many years in the Triad, I thought I was fearless and wouldn't care about death, but when it really comes to it... I'm still afraid of dying."
"It's better to live a bad life than to die a good one."
Yue Lu took a harsh drag from his cigar, but he inhaled too hard, choked violently, and coughed for a long time.
Li Fu said speechlessly:
"That's not how you smoke a cigar; you shouldn't inhale the smoke into your lungs, just let it stay in your mouth for your taste buds to savor the cigar's aroma."
Yue Lu calmed down and said angrily:
"Am I choking?"
"I'm lamenting my dwindling time."
Li Fu looked at Yue Lu in surprise:
"You're clearly a rough man; why are you pretending to be a poet?"
"Lamenting?"
"Can that word even apply to you?"
Yue Lu was choked into silence for a long time.
Li Fu said indifferently:
"Let me put your mind at ease; you're not the one who killed Tsukamoto Do; we knew that from the start."
Yue Lu was startled, confused:
"Then why are you still looking for me?"
Li Fu said indifferently:
"Didn't I tell you? There are inexplicable suspicious points surrounding you."
"Just this suspicious point alone means you can't get away."
Yue Lu wished he could slap himself several times. Why did he say those words to Uncle Liang that day?
Now he really couldn't wash himself clean even if he jumped into the Yellow River.
That Old Japanese Devil Tsukamoto Do just happened to die not long after he accepted the bounty. Logically, everyone would suspect him!
Yue Lu gave a bitter smile:
"Then is there still hope for me?"
Li Fu shook his head regretfully:
"No hope, no saving."
Yue Lu was numb!
"However, it's not entirely impossible."
Yue Lu said with a straight face:
"You're not messing with me, are you?"
Li Fu asked him, amused:
"You're not the one who took out the Old Japanese Devil, so do you think others would know?"
Yue Lu's hope was rekindled:
"Perhaps?"
Li Fu poured two buckets of cold water on him:
"That depends on what the other party thinks."
Yue Lu quickly pressed:
"What do you mean?"
Li Fu explained:
"If the real culprit can't be found, then you're out of luck and will have to take the blame."
"You don't need to feel sorry for yourself."
"Who told you to actually do such a thing?"
Yue Lu said loudly:
"What kind of thing did I do?"
Li Fu sneered:
"You accepted Uncle Liang's order, and Uncle Liang paid you!"
Yue Lu wanted to cry but had no tears.
"If the other party can't find the killer and can't leave it hanging, they will definitely use your head as a scapegoat, and then secretly investigate who actually killed the Old Japanese Devil."
Yue Lu was speechless.
Li Fu then said:
"But there's another thing, and it's the most likely thing to happen."
"That revenge fund is the Tsukamoto Family's revenge fund; the other party will definitely want to directly find the killer of the Old Japanese Devil, so the target won't directly be you."
"However, you accepted Uncle Liang's commission, and you also received Uncle Liang's deposit."
"That is to say, you also wanted to kill that Old Japanese Devil."
"The Tsukamoto Family won't let you off."
Yue Lu's face was ashen:
"So, no matter what, I'm going to die?"
Li Fu spread his hands:
"Barring any accidents, you're dead."
Yue Lu was a clever fellow and immediately understood Li Fu's unspoken meaning,
"I still have a chance?"
Li Fu nodded:
"You could say there's a chance!"
"My goal is to take out the Old Japanese Devil of the Tsukamoto Family and that damn fund, and seize one hundred million US dollars."
Yue Lu looked at Li Fu incredulously.
Li Fu said displeased:
"What kind of look is that?"
Yue Lu frowned:
"Why do this?"
Li Fu said calmly:
"The Old Japanese Devil deserves to die."
"All of his money was plundered when he joined the army, and it was through plundering that he had the capital to do business after the war."
"Everyone in the Tsukamoto Family enjoyed this benefit."
"They all deserve to die."
Yue Lu became inexplicably cold:
"Even the Tsukamoto Family's children deserve to die?"
Li Fu said without hesitation:
"They deserve to die!"
"Are children innocent? No! If it weren't for this ill-gotten money, who knows if the Tsukamoto Family would even have descendants, so how can you talk about innocence?"
"If you enjoy the benefits brought by evil, then don't complain about those evils."
"So, they deserve to die!"
Yue Lu sighed:
"The perspective is indeed different; I thought you would say the children are innocent."
Li Fu said indifferently:
"I do have compassion, but I'm not a saint."
"Those guys deserve to die!"
"You are just a tool for me to meet the Tsukamoto Family; theoretically, you are the one who killed the Old Japanese Devil."
"So, if I bring you over, it will be easy to meet the person in charge of the Tsukamoto Family's fund."
"This kind of fund cannot be allowed to grow freely within our borders."
"When it's time to nip it in the bud, it must be nipped."
Yue Lu was overjoyed:
"So, if I cooperate well, I won't have to die?"
Li Fu nodded:
"Thank yourself for having a good daughter!"
Yue Lu frowned:
"What does Qi Qi have to do with it?"
Li Fu did not hide his thoughts in the slightest:
"How is it not her business?"
"If it weren't for your daughter, would I care about your life or death?"
Yue Lu belatedly realized:
"You're interested in my daughter?"
Li Fu sighed:
"Can't you speak properly?"
"I'm smitten with your daughter."
"I want to pursue her and marry her."
Yue Lu shouted:
"Impossible!"
Li Fu looked at him with a half-smile, which startled the latter.
Heaven help him, Yue Lu's reaction was purely subconscious just now.
His own 'little cabbage' that he had raised for so long was being eyed by a 'little punk'; how could he tolerate that?
He couldn't!
However, after shouting, Yue Lu remembered that the person in front of him was not someone he could provoke.
Li Fu asked indifferently:
"Am I not worthy of your daughter?"
Yue Lu chuckled dryly:
"No."
Li Fu pointed casually:
"Do I not have a house?"
Yue Lu shook his head desperately:
"A house in Mid-Levels? I couldn't buy that even if I cheated and swindled my whole life."
Li Fu then said indifferently:
"Do I not have a career?"
Yue Lu's face was ashen:
"The Chief of Thunder Security is a big shot in the underworld."
Li Fu asked again,
"Don't I have money to provide Qi Qi with a good life?"
Yue Lu smiled bitterly and shook his head:
"My daughter isn't materialistic."
Li Fu finally asked,
"Do you have anything else you want to say?"
Yue Lu opened his mouth, stunned for a long time, then finally managed to squeeze out a sentence:
"That depends on Qi Qi's wishes."
Li Fu chuckled:
"It would have been better if you said that earlier."
Yue Lu, feeling dejected, forced a smile:
"I want my daughter to be happy; I'm not trying to sell her."
Li Fu just smiled.
Yue Lu stood up, said his goodbyes, looking utterly defeated.
"Forget it, forget it. Let the young people handle things their way."
He swayed back to sleep.
Li Fu turned to Qi Qi's room:
"You saw everything, right?"
"Do you have anything you want to say?"
The door opened.
Qi Qi walked out in her pajamas, her face stern:
"You're taking advantage of the situation."
Li Fu laughed:
"If I don't use such a great opportunity, am I stupid?"
Before following Lin Feng, Li Fu would never have done such a thing.
To be fair, Li Fu's moral standards were incredibly high.
He wouldn't exploit kindness for personal gain. Doing good deeds without seeking recognition, finding spiritual satisfaction – that was his style.
However, after three years with Lin Feng, Li Fu's heart had long since "gone bad" with Lin Feng!
The most real thing Li Fu learned was not to hide his deepest desires, but to appropriately unleash his wants.
Everyone's growth experiences are different. To make Li Fu into a Young and Dangerous character from a Hong Kong Triad, he couldn't do it.
His inner self wouldn't allow him to do so either.
However, appropriately releasing his desires was quite easy.
Qi Qi sat beside Li Fu, puzzled:
"How did you know I wasn't asleep?"
Li Fu shrugged:
"Yue Lu was shouting so loudly just now; it would be strange if you could sleep."
"Besides, this is my home."
Qi Qi said, displeased:
"What about your home?"
Li Fu sighed:
"Once a person arrives in an unfamiliar place—unless it's a reassuring location like a hotel—no one can sleep soundly."
"Furthermore, you are a captivating woman, and you've experienced countless harassments since childhood."
"You would instinctively be on guard."
Qi Qi's eyes widened. She suddenly realized,
"What you said to my father just now was actually meant for me?"
Li Fu smiled:
"Anyway, I had to explain, so I might as well explain it all at once."
Qi Qi rested her chin on her hand, looking at Li Fu:
"My intuition was right. Even if Tsukamoto Do wasn't killed by you, it's definitely related to you."
Li Fu said indifferently:
"First, Tsukamoto Do deserved to die."
"Second, this is Hong Kong, not Okamoto. The Tsukamoto Family wants to carry out revenge in Hong Kong; they think too highly of themselves."
"Third, Hong Kong never needs any assassins."
"No matter what, we won't let Hong Kong be thrown into chaos."
Qi Qi asked curiously:
"Isn't the more chaotic Hong Kong is, the more beneficial it is for your Thunder Security?"
Li Fu laughed:
"Do you know how dangerous that idea is?"
"Why would Hong Kong be chaotic?"
"If these assassins truly investigated the murderer of Tsukamoto Do like detectives, then Hong Kong wouldn't be chaotic."
"Unfortunately, these guys aren't detectives; they're assassins."
"Therefore, it's expected that this group of dangerous individuals would resort to any means."
"This is a dangerous bomb for all of us."
"We cannot allow such things to happen."
Qi Qi still frowned:
"Don't Thunder Security and the Triad both benefit from a more chaotic society?"
Li Fu sighed heavily:
"Who instilled such nonsense in you?"
"I must state that these things are wrong."
Qi Qi was extremely surprised:
"This is wrong?"
Li Fu nodded heavily:
"Yes, it's wrong."
Qi Qi frowned:
"But..."
"Isn't the more chaotic the Triad is, the better?"
Li Fu looked at her, amused:
"Alright, let me explain it to you in detail."
"The Police Station, or the Triad for that matter, their goals are consistent: they all want society to be stable."
"The essence of a Triad is merely a company cloaked in grey."
"For a company, only when social order is stable can it make money."
"Social unrest brings no benefit to a company."
"Thunder Security is the same."
"While social unrest will indeed elevate the demand for security among the wealthy to a considerable level, everything has a threshold."
"Once that threshold is exceeded, not only will the tycoons suffer, but even Thunder Security won't be able to bear it."
"Do you understand what this means?"
"So..."
"The Tsukamoto Family's revenge fund must be eliminated."
"No matter how many Old Japanese Devils come, they must die!"
Li Fu spoke very frankly.
Qi Qi frowned:
"But this won't benefit you, will it?"
"Even if the Tsukamoto Family is destroyed, you will probably offend some of the world's top assassins... Aren't you worried they'll seek revenge?"
Li Fu looked at her incredulously:
"Miss, those are assassins, not knights-errant."
"They're after money, not to help Tsukamoto Do get revenge."
"If there wasn't a one-hundred-million-dollar bounty, how many people do you think would be willing to come to Hong Kong to get involved in this mess?"
Qi Qi suddenly understood, her face flushed red.
She had misunderstood the nature of assassins.
Li Fu smiled:
"Now you understand my intentions, right?"
Qi Qi rolled her eyes:
"Your intentions?"
"All I saw was a shameless scoundrel threatening an old man."
"My father was scared by you."
Li Fu shook his head:
"Then you've misunderstood."
Qi Qi pouted:
"Isn't that so?"
Li Fu chuckled softly:
"You're a lawyer, after all."
"When lawyers debate in court, don't they always seize on details and loopholes to deliver a fatal blow to the opponent?"
Qi Qi was taken aback.
Li Fu smiled and explained:
"Just now, your father spoke with great indignation, but when he walked, he was extremely light-footed."
"That means he had completely put his worries aside!"
Qi Qi instinctively retorted:
"Impossible!"
Li Fu smiled and took Qi Qi's hand. She was startled and tried to pull away gently, but naturally, she couldn't break free.
Qi Qi, helpless, let Li Fu hold her hand.
Li Fu led Qi Qi by the hand to the outside of Yue Lu's room, pushed it open gently, and motioned with his lips.
Qi Qi peered in, puzzled, and her mouth dropped open—
Yue Lu was sleeping soundly, even snoring.
Li Fu gently closed the door, still holding Qi Qi's hand, and returned to the bar.
"What would you like to drink?"
Qi Qi was flustered,
"Anything!"
Li Fu then freshly squeezed two glasses of watermelon juice for her.
"What are your thoughts?"
Qi Qi said, annoyed:
"Did you know all along?"
Li Fu thought for a moment and said:
"I wouldn't say I knew all along, but I could imagine it."
"Don't blame your father."
"He cares about you the most."
"Otherwise, he wouldn't have relaxed so much just because he heard I liked you and wanted to pursue you."
Qi Qi rolled her eyes:
"You pursuing me makes my father feel at ease?"
Li Fu said seriously:
"Are you misunderstanding me?"
"Although I am a Straw Sandal of the Hung Hing Triad, I am also the chairman of Thunder Security, and my relationship with the Police Station is excellent."
"I am not some Young and Dangerous."
Qi Qi felt her worldview had been completely overturned.
Li Fu shrugged:
"Just like everyone in the underworld knows Brother Feng is the leader of Hung Hing Causeway Bay, but when have you ever seen the police bother him?"
"Never. It's none of your business."
"Do you know why?"
"Brother Feng's record is much cleaner than any normal person's."
Qi Qi exclaimed:
"You too?"
Li Fu smiled:
"I'm his confidant, so naturally, it's the same. Not just me, Jian Jun, who was here just now, is also the same."
"In other words, I am a legitimate businessman."
Qi Qi was speechless for a moment.
Li Fu asked with a smile:
"Beautiful lady, there's still an empty seat next to me. Would you like to give me a chance?"

Chapter 298 Officer George Is Very Bold
"Damn bureaucrats!"
"Damn procedural justice!"
"Damn Governors Office!"
Crash!
Officer George violently swept everything off his desk onto the floor.
Elizabeth's face turned pale with fright:
"Officer, what happened?"
Officer George fumed:
"These bureaucrats at the Governors Office actually want me to take the blame."
"Fortunately, this isn't in Anglo-Saxon territory, otherwise, I'd have them filled with cement and dumped in the sea!"
Elizabeth dared not speak further.
Officer George's eyes seemed to spit fire.
"Just now, the Security Bureau called us key personnel over and, without distinguishing right from wrong, gave us a thorough dressing-down."
"Grand Duke Andrei was attacked twice; it's clear he had something shady going on and went to great lengths to evade the security personnel."
"Yet, the Security Bureau claims we were inactive!"
"They even escalated the matter, saying I reported it to Mainland."
"It almost made me laugh out of anger!"
"The blame for everything, inside and out, falls on him, yet he completely washed his hands of it."
Elizabeth frowned:
"Officer, this isn't normal."
Officer George waved his hands:
"Of course, it's not normal."
"The Security Bureau is derelict in its duties and passing the buck!"
Elizabeth, however, said:
"Officer, what I mean is, the Security Bureau doesn't need to curry favor with Grand Duke Andrei so much."
"Grand Duke Andrei might be popular in the Anglo-Saxon Federation, but we all know what he's like in Mainland. Isn't the Security Bureau being overly concerned?"
Thanks to Officer George, Elizabeth quickly transformed from a workplace novice to a savvy professional. She keenly sensed something was amiss.
Officer George paused, then quickly calmed down:
"Isa, you're right."
"It's one thing for Hong Kong people to lack insight, but the Security Bureau cannot possibly lack insight."
"He's making too much of a fuss."
"Moreover, everyone knows who the real culprit behind Grand Duke Andrei's two attacks is."
"If the Security Bureau wanted to pass the buck, they wouldn't pass it to us Mainland people."
Elizabeth added:
"Others might not know your identity, Officer, but I don't believe the Security Bureau wouldn't know."
Officer George sneered:
"My identity is an open secret. Huang of West Kowloon Police Headquarters, Lin of Hong Kong Island Police Headquarters, Ren of New Territories Police Headquarters—they all know my identity…"
"Even Triad members in Hong Kong know my identity…"
Elizabeth exclaimed:
"That's impossible!"
Officer George said expressionlessly:
"Indeed, it shouldn't be possible."
"But it happened."
His identity with the Anglo-Saxon Military Intelligence, while granting Officer George immense power, was not meant to be public.
Once public, his danger level would also increase exponentially.
Hong Kong was not like other places; it was the espionage capital of the East.
The clashes between agents were full of bloodshed.
What was more critical was that once someone used Officer George's identity, even if Officer George was framed to death, the Hong Kong Government would have little to say.
That would transcend the Hong Kong Government's scope of responsibility; it was a battlefield for great power games, not something a small Governors Office could contend with.
Therefore, Officer George's situation was not actually very good.
Elizabeth cried out:
"Officer, could someone be trying to trip you up?"
Officer George gave a bitter smile:
"There's no need to doubt that."
"I just don't understand one thing: why?"
"Do I look like someone easily bullied?"
Elizabeth remained silent.
Anyone who dared to say Officer George was easily bullied must have lost their mind.
Officer George thought for a moment and said:
"Connect me to Huang of West Kowloon Police Headquarters."
Elizabeth complied, completely disregarding that it was half-past ten at night.
When Wong Bing-Yiu heard the phone ring by his bed, he nearly had a heart attack.
Ever since receiving a few calls from Lin Feng, he genuinely hoped not to answer calls at night again, fearing his heart might not withstand it one day and he'd just kick the bucket.
Upon hearing Elizabeth's voice, he flew into a rage:
"Miss Elizabeth, do you have any sense of time?"
"What time is it that you're calling me?"
"If my wife misunderstands, I'll arrest you and send you to the Internal Affairs Department!"
Elizabeth's face flushed with anger, and she retorted:
"Huang, Officer George wants to speak with you."
Wong Bing-Yiu said coldly:
"He's your officer, not mine."
"Next time you dare to do this, I will definitely complain to the Internal Affairs Department about you harassing me!"
Elizabeth was furious.
However, Wong Bing-Yiu was currently in an "invincible" state; not to mention her, even her direct superior, Officer George, couldn't do anything about Wong Bing-Yiu.
There was no way around it; in any country, an old man about to retire was not to be provoked.
Officer George said gently:
"Huang, I'm truly sorry for disturbing your rest."
Wong Bing-Yiu said helplessly:
"If you wanted to call me, couldn't you call me directly?"
"Do you have to have Isa transfer it?"
"How precious do you think you are!"
"Do you also have Elizabeth dial for you when you call Police Commissioner, the Security Bureau, or the Three Divisions?"
Officer George admitted his mistake directly:
"I apologize, Huang. That's my fault. I absolutely won't do that again next time."
Wong Bing-Yiu asked:
"Calling so late, what's the matter?"
Officer George asked softly:
"Huang, I'd like to ask a question."
"In Hong Kong, whose intelligence is the most well-informed?"
Wong Bing-Yiu blurted out:
"You are!"
"You were dispatched by the Anglo-Saxon Military Intelligence. No one in Hong Kong has more well-informed intelligence than you, right?"
Officer George sighed:
"I'm truly happy to hear you say that about me."
"But I know myself. In terms of official information, I might indeed be the most well-informed."
"But that's not what I want; I want information from the underworld."
"As they say in Mainland, I'm just a dragon passing through the river."
"The truly formidable ones are the local snakes."
Wong Bing-Yiu mused:
"If that's the case, then there's only one person."
Officer George said happily:
"Who?"
Wong Bing-Yiu smiled:
"Lin Feng, the leader of Hung Hing Causeway Bay."
"A friendly reminder: if you want to inquire about information from him, it's best to show your sincerity."
"Don't think of using the Anglo-Saxon approach, otherwise, you won't be able to handle the consequences."
"Alright, remember to treat me to dinner later. I'm hanging up."
Officer George looked at the phone speechlessly. That scoundrel Wong Bing-Yiu just hung up on him, quite decisively.
Elizabeth said angrily:
"Officer, Huang is too disrespectful."
Officer George sighed:
"He's not to be provoked in his current state. Let him complain a bit if he wants to."
"Please find me information on Lin Feng, the leader of Hung Hing Causeway Bay."
"The more detailed, the better!"
Elizabeth, as an assistant, was extremely professional.
In less than three minutes, she handed the material to Officer George.
"That fast?"
Officer George was quite surprised.
Elizabeth said cautiously:
"Officer, Lin's file is very clean, too clean."
Officer George's expression shifted:
"Too clean?"
Elizabeth nodded solemnly:
"Yes!"
Officer George couldn't help but look at the file in his hand; it was indeed clean.
It was just one damn piece of paper!
Officer George shook the paper, incredulous:
"This is Lin's file?"
Elizabeth said apologetically:
"That's right, just one piece of paper."
Officer George couldn't help but ask:
"Isn't he the leader of Hung Hing Causeway Bay?"
"Doesn't he have any criminal record at all?"
Elizabeth gave a bitter smile:
"None!"
Officer George was extremely astonished.
Elizabeth explained:
"I even specifically asked relevant personnel, and they said Lin Feng is an anomaly in the entire underworld; he hardly participates in any illegal or criminal activities."
"He's a legendary financier, specifically providing funds for the Triad."
"Triads wouldn't allow someone like him to do illegal things."
"Or rather, if illegal things needed to be done, they wouldn't need him."
"It's clearly more useful for the Triad to have him as a big capitalist."
Officer George sneered:
"Since when did Triads become so high-class that they could recruit big capitalists?"
Elizabeth also found it incredible:
"But according to the information I received, that's how it is."
Officer George glanced at the clean white paper:
"No wonder Huang gave such a warning."
"This kind of person is the hardest to deal with."
"This person must be extremely intelligent."
"Huang is no ordinary person, and the fact that he has no way to deal with this Lin is enough to prove the point."
Even as he said this, his brows were tightly furrowed.
Triads were already very troublesome.
The powerful figures hidden behind the Triads were even more troublesome.
However, a strongman like Lin Feng, who doesn't care if others know about his connection with the Triad and can still live freely, is the most troublesome.
George smiled bitterly to himself; he was about to deal with such a troublesome person.
"Isa, find me Mr. Lin's phone number."
Elizabeth was startled:
"Officer, should I call him?"
George shook his head repeatedly:
"No, I'll call him myself."
Elizabeth frowned but still complied.
Soon, Lin Feng's mobile number was found.
George picked up the phone and made the call, and his opening words startled Elizabeth, because George wasn't speaking English, but Chinese.
"Hello, Mr. Lin, this is George from the Police Political Department."
Lin Feng was very surprised:
"George from the Political Department?"
George was slightly pleased; it seemed this famous Mr. Lin from the underworld still knew him.
"My call surprises you so much?"
Lin Feng smiled and shook his head:
"Not really, but I clearly remember you couldn't speak Chinese when you first arrived in Hong Kong. To be able to speak Chinese so fluently in such a short time..."
"You must have put in a lot of hard work."
George's expression changed drastically:
"How do you know?"
Lin Feng shrugged:
"As long as it's in Hong Kong, there's very little I don't know."
"Is there anything surprising about that?"
"I can confirm that when you received your appointment and rushed to Hong Kong, you couldn't speak a single word of Chinese."
"Now your Chinese is very fluent, which shows you've put in a lot of hard work."
"That's how it should be. After all, you're here to work in Hong Kong. If you don't speak the local language, you probably wouldn't even know if someone was scolding you."
"Alright, let's not talk about such meaningless things."
"George, what do you want from me?"
George gave a dry laugh:
"I want to ask Mr. Lin for some information."
Lin Feng smiled and said:
"Did the person who introduced me to you tell you something?"
George shook his head:
"I don't know what you're talking about."
Lin Feng said indifferently:
"To be honest with you, in Hong Kong, there's very little information I don't know."
"However, asking me for information requires money."
"The more important the intelligence, the more money it costs."
"You'd better think carefully before coming to me."
George asked:
"For example?"
Lin Feng said casually:
"You know about the doctor-gangster group at the Grand Hyatt Hotel a while ago, right?"
George nodded:
"Of course."
Lin Feng smiled:
"It's best if you know."
"Mr. Lin from the Hong Kong Island Police Headquarters bought a single sentence from the doctor from me, costing two million hong kong dollars."
"Huang of West Kowloon Police Headquarters has spent no less than five million buying intelligence from me during this period."
"As long as you have money, no matter what kind of money, I will give it to you!"
George gasped.
Good heavens, is this guy an intelligence dealer?
This is too greedy!
However, thinking about his own situation, George gritted his teeth and said:
"I want to buy information."
Lin Feng said calmly:
"I am a businessman, welcoming guests from all directions."
"As long as you bring enough money, you can buy any kind of intelligence."
George said impatiently:
"Can it be today?"
Lin Feng laughed heartily:
"Of course, you know my address. Come."
Twenty minutes later, George and Elizabeth got out of the car, looking surprised and uncertain.
They had arrived at Lin Feng's luxurious mansion on Victoria Peak.
Even though both knew Lin Feng was extraordinary, it was only after seeing the mansion that they confirmed he was indeed extraordinary.
Wang Jianguo was already waiting for them:
"The boss is waiting for you."
George and Elizabeth dared not be arrogant and quickly followed Wang Jianguo into the mansion.
Perhaps it was George's illusion, but he always felt that Wang Jianguo looked at him strangely.
There was always a feeling of trepidation in his heart.
As if he had been targeted by a hunter.
But this shouldn't be!
George looked at Wang Jianguo with a slight daze.
Lin Feng spoke:
"George, you came here and you're just staring at my driver?"
George snapped back to reality and said incredulously:
"This is just a driver?"
"If I'm not mistaken, this person has been on the battlefield."
Lin Feng clapped his hands:
"That's right, Jianguo has been on the battlefield and retired due to injury."
"He is also one of the managers of Thunder Security."
George looked deeply at Lin Feng, surprised by his frankness and by the other party's strength.
Lin Feng clapped his hands:
"You two are busy people. Why aren't you busy researching some secrets in the middle of the night, and instead come to my place?"
Elizabeth asked in surprise:
"Mr. Lin, you know me?"
Lin Feng shrugged:
"I said, as long as it's in Hong Kong, there's very, very little I don't know."
Elizabeth suddenly asked:
"Then who am I?"
Lin Feng said amusedly:
"I won't charge you for this information."
"You are Elizabeth, you used to be a simple girl, and now you are a member of George's team."
"You're a pretty good girl; take fewer drugs in the future."
"That doesn't do anything for your willpower."
George and Elizabeth were horrified.
Elizabeth looked at George, then at Lin Feng:
"How do you know?"
"Are you investigating us?"
Lin Feng looked at her with pity:
"Don't be silly, child. You work in a safe house at the Police Station, and no one but a Foreigner can get in there."
Elizabeth felt extremely uncomfortable.
Lin Feng was clearly not as old as her, yet when he called her a child, Elizabeth didn't find it abnormal.
It was as if the man in front of her was truly a venerable elder.
This was simply crazy.
Unlike Elizabeth, George felt his heart was about to pound out of his chest from fright.
Elizabeth's drug use was a secret among secrets; George could swear that only he and Elizabeth knew about it.
But why did Lin Feng know?
George subtly took a step closer to Lin Feng, who acutely noticed:
"George, if I were you, I wouldn't do anything foolish."
George gave a dry laugh:
"Why would I do anything foolish?"
No sooner had he spoken than he suddenly stepped forward, throwing a right jab at Lin Feng.
The corners of Lin Feng's mouth curled up, a smile he couldn't suppress.
Bang!
To Elizabeth's horror, her all-powerful officer had flown out.
George curled up in pain.
His face was as red as a cooked shrimp.
Wang Jianguo had already reached George, a gun pressed directly against George's temple.
Elizabeth finally reacted and shrieked loudly:
"Stop! Officer George is a senior officer of the Police Political Department, you cannot harm him."
Wang Jianguo ignored her words, and with a click, the safety was off.
The cold muzzle pressed against George's temple, and he was so frightened that he forgot the pain.
Lin Feng said amusedly:
"You must have investigated my identity, right?"
Elizabeth dared not lie and nodded honestly.
Lin Feng scoffed:
"Then you must also know who this driver next to me is, right?"
Elizabeth looked bewildered.
Lin Feng complained:
"You didn't even investigate the people around me thoroughly, and yet you dare to come to my place and cause trouble?"
"Never mind, I'll give you a hint."
"This is Wang Jianguo."
"Does that ring a bell?"
George broke out in a sweat.
Elizabeth suddenly remembered a piece of information and blurted out:
"Wang Jianguo?"
"The only sharpshooter among the four executives of Thunder Security?"
Clap, clap, clap.
Lin Feng applauded:
"Isa is well-prepared after all."
"But you're wrong. All four of my managers are sharpshooters; it's just that the other three prefer to punch people."
As he spoke, he stood up, and with a light flick, he took a small Browning pistol from Elizabeth.
Elizabeth was completely stunned and quickly raised her hands.
She swore to God, she had no idea how Lin Feng had moved.
Lin Feng ignored Elizabeth and came to George with a smile, waving his hand, and two pistols fell into his hands.
Elizabeth was even more shocked; she didn't even know that Officer George had two sidearms.
Lin Feng smiled slightly, his expression becoming somewhat sinister:
"Come, let's have a good talk. Who gave you the guts to come to my place and cause trouble?"
"You've got a lot of nerve!"
