Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: The Second Young Master Is Too Clingy

After a brief silence, everyone's gaze turned to Amelia Wright.

The crowd saw such a face.

Even with the soot from the fire, it couldn't hide her breathtaking beauty, that pale fragility, the cold and noble broken aura, making one feel that everything she says must be right.

"Is this... the adopted daughter of the Wright family?"

"Didn't they say she was plain? How is she this beautiful? No wonder the Wright family dared to brazenly use the adopted daughter for Young Master Shaw."

"So the elder master came to rescue the sister-in-law, huh."

"That's not the point. The point is the adopted daughter accused the Wright family of abuse and accused the Wright family of intentional murder!"

The discussions halted.

Bess Bennett was already stunned, shouting loudly, "Amelia Wright, what nonsense are you talking? You better consider the consequences of saying these things!"

Bess Bennett's words carried a hint of threat.

She was seething inside but unable to erupt in public. Has this wretch gone mad? Isn't she most afraid of cutting ties?

Usually, she wouldn't even dare to raise her voice in front of her, so how does she dare to say such things publicly?

Amelia's eyes seemed to glitter with fire as she raised her voice, "Am I talking nonsense? Who wounded me, who locked me in the room, there's surveillance in the hall, there's fingerprints on the door, a check will reveal who the culprit is!"

Amelia's skin was too fair, just a little bump would leave bruises all over.

Previously arguing with Marsh Smith and then bumping a few times in the fire scene, she looked thoroughly battered now; no one could believe she hadn't been abused.

While speaking, Amelia glanced at Lisa, who looked terrified.

Lisa collapsed to the ground with a thud, "It wasn't me, it wasn't me, it was the lady who told me to lock the door."

Bess Bennett was startled and glared furiously at Lisa.

Lisa pretended not to notice Bess Bennett's gaze. Usually, she could help the Wright family beat and scold Amelia; these were small things. But now, even if she's foolish, she knows that intentional murder is illegal and can lead to imprisonment—she wasn't going to take the fall for this.

Amelia sneered inwardly, as she expected, Lisa was cowardly and selfish, easy to panic under fear.

Today is quite lively at the Wright family. Due to the Wright and Shaw family marriage arrangement, enough guests were invited to the art exhibition.

At this moment, these prestigious guests were all looking at Bess Bennett in shock.

Bess Bennett panicked, losing her backbone, her husband was not here today; he went to the Imperial Garden to visit thinking about what benefits he might secure with Amelia married off, who would've imagined the elder Shaw master would suddenly appear here at the Wright family to save this wretch.

Her daughter Ava Wright didn't know where she had gone either.

Ava Wright was impatiently dealing with guests at the art exhibition, found an excuse to return to her room, leisurely lying half-reclined upstairs, waiting for Marsh Smith to bring Amelia over to apologize.

In her panic, Bess Bennett spoke indiscriminately, "Amelia Wright, you surely don't want to marry Young Master Shaw, you're unsatisfied with this matter, that's why you're framing me. As an adopted daughter, being able to marry into the Shaw family is a blessing from your past life. Even if Young Master Shaw is a cripple, what right do you have to complain!"

Saying this in front of Godfery Shaw was indeed brainless, because it would make the elder master not only detest Amelia but also the entire Wright family.

The guests quietly glanced at Godfery Shaw, exchanging looks.

Godfery Shaw had no reaction.

Amelia spoke first, "Young Master Shaw indeed is not very good."

Everyone was shocked, what is this woman saying!

Speaking ill of the young master in front of the elder master, does she not know the meaning of death?

While everyone was still stunned, they again heard Amelia say coyly, "Young Master Shaw is just too clingy, which is not very good, I'm not used to it."

Bess Bennett: "..."

Guests: "???"

Godfery Shaw's eyes, full of coldness, glanced at Amelia.

Clingy?
