"Do you want me to sing for you?" Julius Goodman asked.
"Isn't that a bit inappropriate?"
In fact, Ava Kent was quite looking forward to it, but it was so late. Julius still needed to rest. For people in their line of work, sleep was crucial. Otherwise, it was hard to concentrate and easy to make mistakes.
"It's okay, I'm not sleepy anyway."
Julius cleared his throat, "Since you didn't request a song, I'll just sing whatever comes to mind."
She knew he was worried she might be afraid of sleeping alone, so he kept her company. A twinge of warmth filled Ava's heart.
"I promised to take you wandering
Yet I turned back halfway
Falling into an ocean of guilt
Realized I can't live without you
I decided to go back
You were no longer there
I can accept everything about you
All your little tantrums
I can take you to eat lots
Of delicious food
I can occasionally bring you
Little sweet surprises
Just like a few years ago
Daily creating surprises for you..."
