as we entered the town, I realized Emelia was putting on a brave face despite her depression. Her smile was fake.
I tried to comfort her. "We can always try to change the kingdom from the outside. it's not like the highest level adventurers have no power to change a country. We just have to get stronger."
Her fake smile drops, and she seems to start thinking really hard. as the sun starts to come up, she yawns, and Puck Immediately appears. "Lia I sensed your distress! what happened last night?"

after a short search of the town center, We find out the towns name is Billando. We are 4 hours from the capital by dragon carriage. How could we know that you might ask?

Ram looks at Rem incredulously.
"Dear sister, when Emelia was teaching us about the world, were you not paying attension? that map is clearly accurate. Scarily so, considering it's available to all new adventurers." I look down at my white-plate that is made of literal paper and frown"
Rem and Ram noticing That I'm doing that, frown as well. "They could at least test our strength. Starting at paper rank, is totally uncalled for." Ram Says.
Rem just nods seriously and says, "Umu, this is really dumb."
Did she just umu like a cute anime girl? Gosh I havent seen any good anime since Kyushu sunk in 2001. I probably will never even see it again either.

We take a fired clay job of getting rid of giant rat mabeasts in the burial grounds. We handle it in 5 minutes.
Acutually, Ram does it, by activating her wind aura. shredding the Rats with extreme prejudice. Which creates a new job for a paper Rank adventurer to clean the Burial grounds without damaging anything.
We, which is read, Ram, made a bloody mess of the area. Noticing our efficiency, we are invited to take a test to determine an accurate rank for us.

"A mithril adventurer will be with us you tomorrow. We are footing the bill for this test So don't miss it. You can take up to Obsidian level quests right now . The highest you can skip up to is Steel, despite your strength." the receptionist says. we are given 5 small silvers. just enough for 1 room with access to the bath and a big meal. "Might as well take advantage of that," I say wanting to make enough money so that the girls feel comfortable. Just one room isn't enough. I'll need at least 1 large silver in order to pay for a good room in the best hotel in the town.
we look for a quest that will take less than 5 hours. We find one that's Rated Obsidian, and pays 15 large silvers. I grin as we take it down.
"Eliminate Bandit controlled drug den in down-town Billando. provide leader, Cobbler Heughs', thumb as proof."
We immediately get to it.
