Chapter 7 - Chapter 7

RWBY: Bond Of Brothers

Volume 2

Beacon Academy

"WHOO!" Cole cried as he leapt onto the bottom bunk bed mattress. "Two weeks of FREEDOM!"

"Don't get your hopes up, it'll be over before you know it," Kyle told him.

He sighed as he tossed his bag on top of the neighboring bunk.

"Whatever, it's time for a VACATION!" Cole continued. "This next semester can kiss my ass!"

"Cole...I had to tutor you the night before every exam to make sure you would pass." His brother reminded him.

"Yeah, SO WHAT?" Cole asked in an angered tone, shooting him a glare.

Kyle gave a deep sigh as he lowered his head. Closing his eyes, he thought deep and hard about what his mother…no, his father would likely want him to do.

"I think you need to keep your priorities in order by the time this coming semester begins," Kyle stated. "It's something you need to focus and work hard on if you're going to be a huntsman."

Cole's eyes suddenly widened open as he quickly sat up in surprise. Kyle slowly looked over and made eye contact with him. After seeing his brother's shocked face he instantly regretted it.

"Cole…..look, I'm sorry. I'm only trying to help yo-" Kyle began.

"YOU'RE NOT MY FATHER, AND YOU NEVER WILL BE!" Cole screamed as he quickly stood up in his older brother's face. Turning away, he then quickly left the dorm room in a hurry.

Kyle stood in silence in the room alone as his mind began racing. "So this is what I get for trying to be a leader?" he asked himself.

THE NEXT DAY

Kyle's eyes came open before he sat up in complete silence. Looking around, he found the dorm room to be empty.

"Already?" He thought to himself. "Looks like the whole team already made their own plans without me."

In truth, he wasn't that surprised. The night before, Cole and Liam had gone to a gathering for students somewhere. Kyle had no intention of going, and that's exactly how he wanted it. And as for Petra, well….she was nowhere to be found….as usual. Kyle soon came to his senses and stopped overthinking.

He stretched before making his way down the top bunk. A huge blinding ray of light shot through the window in the middle of the room. Kyle raised his hand towards the curtains and saw that they were wide open. "These were closed, last time I checked" he thought to himself. "And I think I know who left them open."

Kyle knew the culprit and knew it had been done with much animosity.

He hadn't spoken to his brother since the night before. Since the…fight. He had only….left him a message. Slowly Kyle reached over and took his scroll from his belongings. Unlocking it, he clicked on his brother's name and stared at the last thing Cole sent him.

"You'll never be like HIM, so just stop trying to." It read. Kyle's eyes stared deeply at the message, before giving a common sigh of disapproval. Looking above Cole's message he then gazed at the message he had sent to try and make things somewhat…better.

"Cole, I know I'm always hard on you, but I'm not trying to tear you down….I only want you to be the best you can be. Dad believed in both of us. I just don't want us to fail and forget everything he taught us. I'm not trying to replace him, but we both have to work together because Dad lives inside both of us."

Suddenly by pure coincidence, Kyle received a new message as he glumly stood looking over his scroll screen. It was from Liam.

Clicking on his teammate's name he soon became eager to see the full message.

"Heya team leader, we look forward to seeing you join us for lunch! I know school is gonna be closed for the break. But they'll still be serving meals for all of us who are enrolled of course!" it read.

Kyle suddenly felt the need to ask who was there, but quickly stopped himself. He had no doubt Cole was with his 'friend' let alone teammate. At this point it was clear his brother lived in Liam's shadow, he knew Liam was not only his cheerful teammate…but….his icon.

"Sounds great. I'm on my way" Kyle quickly responded before he started to put his scroll away, until he froze.

Something had suddenly crossed his mind.

Kyle quickly raised his scroll back up and began calling a very special person whom he knew loved him more than life itself. His mother.

Soon after a voice came to the phone before giving a heart-warming 'Hello?'

Kyle quietly stood in silence, before quickly responding in the friendliest way he knew how. "Hi mom," he said in a monotone voice.

"KYLE!!! IT'S SO WONDERFUL TO HEAR YOUR VOICE!!" A joyous and cheerful exclamation soon burst from his scroll, leaving his ears ringing.

"Uh, y-you t-too!" Kyle managed to reply.

"HOW IS EVERYTHING, SWEETIE!? DID YOU AND COLE ENJOY YOUR FIRST SEMESTER!?!" Maple continued and asked in her booming voice.

"Everything…is fine." He continued before pausing. After what felt like an eternity Kyle continued replying. "And uh….yes, we did."

"Wow, I'm so proud of you two! Who are your teammates…no, who's the team leader!? Wait…are you talking to any girls!?" She cried as she shot off one question after another.

After waiting for his mother to continue to ask what seemed like almost too much, Kyle finally remembered he had somewhere to be.

"Look mom, everything is okay. I promise I'll tell you all you wanna know, when we come down! You know….uh, for….Cole's PARTY!

"Oh thank goodness! I can't wait to meet everyone!" Maple continued crying out joyfully.

After telling his mother farewell, Kyle hung up before giving a deep, relieved sigh.

"Now I know what Liam must feel like with all those fangirls…" he thought to himself as his eyes widened.

Soon after, Kyle prepared to leave in a clean change of clothes before gathering his belongings and leaving his Dorm.

CAFETERIA

Not long after, Kyle made his way into the very large dining hall as he looked around curiously with his plate full of food.

The cafeteria was full of students conversing, but not the usual number due to the semester break.

Looking around, Kyle attempted to spot his team until suddenly he felt a quick tap on his shoulder, causing him to spin around in an instant.

Before him stood a familiar face. The pale yet beautiful young Heiress herself. Weiss Schnee.

"Oh! Uh, hello the-" Kyle began but stopped almost instantly as Weiss held a single finger up to his lips.

A small pause began as Kyle's eyes widened before Weiss slowly removed her finger.

"No need for introductions, I know exactly who you are," she said before crossing her arms.

"Alright then, how can I be of service to you?" Kyle said with a grin as he gave a small playful bow.

"No funny business, I'm not here for you" Weiss replied as she rolled her eyes.

"Then why are we talking?" Kyle smirked as he gave a curious but quizzical look.

Weiss quickly shot him a glare. Giving a deep sigh, she managed to collect herself before continuing.

"Look…I know you're in charge of Team Copal. I'm only here….because there's something I would like to know." Weiss told him confidently.

"I can see that.." Kyle said as he gave a slow nod, resisting the urge to smile. "Let me guess, it's about one of my teammates?'

"NO! Well, y-yes…..Look, stop jumping to conclusions!" Weiss snapped as she lowered her arms firmly.

"My apologies….we'll let's hear it. I'm getting awfully hungry." Kyle shrugged as he looked down at his food.

"I just need to know…" Weiss began.

An awkward silence came between the two as Weiss slowly looked around before stepping closer.

"Is it true…?" Weiss whispered

Kyle stood in place as Weiss made her way up to him, and he slightly tensed up in confusion.

"Are Liam and Pyrrha…" she continued.

Kyle's eyes stared as his mouth suddenly dropped open.

"Together?" Weiss asked as her eyes widened and she began biting her bottom lip.

Kyle stood in utter confusion as he stared ahead and attempted to process the question.

Moments passed as he tried to think of how to respond. "Uh….I h-have no…idea actually…" Kyle finally managed to reply.

"Ugh, I knew it. This was pointless…." Weiss suddenly narrowed her eyes before quickly turning around "How can you expect to be a team leader when you don't even KNOW about your own TEAM!"

"Wait! I could maybe-" Kyle began as he quickly attempted to speak up.

"Save It! Such a waste of time" she interrupted before walking away. "You know nothing useful it would seem!"

Kyle continued to watch her walk off speechless and simply….dumbfounded.

He stood in place as he soon became lost in thought.

"Why in the world would she ask me that?" Kyle thought. "Who in the world told her that…?"

Kyle looked down at his plate.

Suddenly he came to after hearing a voice cry out his name. A familiar one.

Looking around, he tried to pinpoint where and who the voice was coming from.

Finally, he spotted Liam waving his arm at a table as he looked on from a distance.

Kyle quickly stepped forward and began making his way toward his smiling teammate.

As he approached, he saw someone who surprised Kyle.

Sitting beside him Liam was Petra, who had her back turned….but… surprisingly she was there.

Sitting across from him was Cole, his first appearance since their fight. He had his head down and was on his scroll.

Kyle finally made his way up to the table, sitting down next to Cole so the four of them were all facing one another.

For the first time, Team KCPL sat all together for a meal. Yes, TOGETHER.

"Glad you could make it!" Liam smiled before he went back to taking a bite of food. "Can't have a meal without our team leader!"

Liam's cheerfulness stood out as Cole and Petra remained quiet.

Kyle met eyes with Liam before another awkward silence.

"Things are looking good for the Vytal Festival....not everyone seems to want to meet me thankfully" Liam told his fellow teammates as he spoke up.

"Good," Petra said suddenly. "More people, more problems."

Liam lowered his head like he had been defeated in battle and yet another awkward silence began.

Kyle decided to quickly ease the tension and finally spoke up.

"So Liam…." He began getting everyone's attention. "Your semblance is weight manipulation…or 'G Forcing' if I remember correctly. And your sword is known as Schwere Angst."

Liam quickly nodded. "Yes, that's right! And by the way, I've been wondering about yours myself" he said.

"My lance-whip is Stormrift." Kyle answered. "Cole's axe is Pyros Ascia"

"NO IT ISN'T" Cole quickly spoke up with an irritated tone. "It's just Pyro….not that fancy word crap."

"Uh…right. Sorry. He likes to just call it Pyro" Kyle said, looking uneasy.

"Pyro it is" Liam said with a smile and giving a thumbs up.

Kyle looked over at his faunus teammate who remained quiet. "So….Petra. What's the name of your battle fan?"

Yet another awkward silence came about.

Kyle, Cole, and Liam couldn't help but begin looking over toward Petra.

She had her head lowered down at her plate but finally turned her eyes up towards Kyle.

"Why does it matter to you?" she murmured.

Kyle became speechless and began trying to think of something to say.

"Look…Petra. He's only asking because he wants to know more about you, his teammate." Liam chimed in.

Petra remained silent as she looked away and back at her plate

"It was worth a try," Kyle said before sighning. "That's okay, if you want it it to be on a need to know basis tha-"

"Lotus Gale" Petra spoke up suddenly.

Kyle widened his eyes before quickly looking at Liam and smiling.

"Ah, that's a lovely name." He said. I'd love to hear the story behind that. But some other time perhaps"

"Sounds boring," Cole replied, shrugging.

"Uh….Cole, let's not go there" Liam began just as his face gave a worried look.

Petra suddenly stood up.

"That's fine, I'm used to it." She said, looking Cole's way. "But boring? That's definitely a new one. Sounds like something you could relate to I suppose"

Cole suddenly gave a shocked look.

"H-Hey! Hold on now! Pyro is NOT boring!" He yelled.

Petra picked up her plate and turned away. She began walking off.

Liam looked back at Cole and gave a glare. But said nothing.

"You just don't get it do you?" Kyle thought to himself as he looked over at his younger brother in disappointment.

"I'll…..go get her" Liam told them before quickly standing up and leaving.

Kyle and Cole were left sitting next to each other alone but nothing else was said.

"You know…..to be honest… I'm surprised you're about to be 17" Kyle finally spoke up.

"What you've done is so childish"

Turning to the side, Cole leaned in to get closer to his sibling. "Mind your own damn business for once" he replied.

"Spreading rumors that Liam is in a relationship with Pyrrha?" Kyle continued as turned to meet eyes with him. "What exactly is your goal? Because I'm almost tempted to tell him…"

"What he doesn't know won't hurt him." Cole scowled. "But why should you care, you getting jealous of him or something?"

"I'm the team leader, everything that goes on between us four is my business" Kyle said. "Can't you get that through your thick skull?"

"Shut the hell up…quit trying to tell me what I can and can't do!" Cole snapped.

"You need to realize people have boundaries, but most importantly you need to learn that respect goes both ways." Kyle continued, unphased by Cole's tone.

"Screw this, I'm not getting lectured again by your ass!" Cole said as he shot up from his seat. "Always trying to think you know what's best and that I'm the stupid one!"

Cole quickly stormed off, leaving his plate.

Kyle was left sitting alone, looking down. He soon felt himself in deep thought.

He knew his team was already a mess, but he also knew his brother was only making it worse. But he also knew…it was time to put his foot down. No matter how angry and hard-headed Cole was…somehow he needed to find a way to handle it.

THAT EVENING.

"Alright, so I'll see you both in two days time?" Maple asked with her familiar heartwarming smile.

Kyle and Cole sat in their dorm room as they spoke to their mother on their scrolls. They were in a shared call so that everyone would be able to communicate easily.

"Don't you two dare come alone. Everyone is welcome…especially your teammates!" Maple stated.

"I'm not sure about th-" Kyle began.

"Yeah, good idea! Liam, you should totally travel with us!" Cole cried looking over at his teammate's direction.

Liam's eyes quickly widened as he looked up from the bottom mattress of his bunk bed.

"Huh?" he said.

"Dude, I would love for you to come to my party!" Cole said, walking up close to him.

"W-Well I'd love to go but I'm not sure if that'd be the best thing. I don't like getting out in public…"

"Aw, come on!" Cole said smiling as he made eye contact with Liam. "Just this once!"

"I'm not sure, I don't want to be robbed again or followed of course…." Liam continued. "Also I haven't seen or heard from Petra. She might be upset if we leave without her."

"Girl's can be tricky sometimes," Maple said with a laugh on the scroll. "Tell her she's very welcome, I'd love to have the whole team over!" I know our village like the back of my hand, there will be no pesky or bad people of any kind!"

"Well...what do you think I should do Kyle?" Liam asked as he looked over at him team leader.

"Bah! Who cares what he thinks, this we'll be awesome! Cole cried out again.

"Cole, be polite and let your brother speak." Maple said in a serious tone. "Liam has the right to ask Kyle."

"Uh, whoops. Alright…sorry. He is the team leader….I guess" Cole said as he rolled his eyes.

"WAIT WHAT!? HE IS!? OH MY GOODNESS!!! I'M SO PROUD OF YOU MY HANDSOME BOY!!!" Maple screeched.

"Yes mother I am. But no need to celebrate that, it is Cole's birthday after all." Kyle said with a small smile. "And Liam….I think it's entirely your choice. If you do come I think you'll do just fine with us by your side."

"Oh…well I guess you're right. Alright then!" Liam said nervously as he scratched the back of his head.

"YES!" Cole cried out. "LET'S DO IT!"

"Aw, listen to you guys! And I'm glad to have the privilege to meet you Liam!" Maple said happily. "You three travel safely, and look out for one another."

"We will mother, I love you. Can't wait to see you again….take care." Kyle said as he looked at her face on the screen.

"Bye mom!" Cole cried, waving.

"Bye you two!" Maple said with a final smile.

They both ended the call.

There was complete silence in the room.

Finally Kyle sighed as he looked over at his two teammates. "Maybe….we should try and find out where Petra is. I think it'd be good for her to get out and come tag along."

"Who cares!?" Cole said, giving him a shrug. "If it's just us, then that's fine with me!"

"Well..I agree with him" Liam said. "Let's try to reach out to her at least and make the offer before we leave."

"Ugh" Cole groaned before sitting down on the other bottom bunk bed.

"Why didn't you tell Mom about the bandits that attacked and we scared off?" he suddenly asked, looking over at Kyle.

"Because...what she doesn't know won't hurt her," his brother said with a grin.

THE NEXT DAY.

It was very early in the morning.

The three male members of Team KCPL spent all their time packing their travel necessities and continued to wait to hear from their female faunus teammate.

"Guess she's a no show" Cole said finally. "Now come on! Let's hit the road!"

"Well…alright." Liam said with a sigh. "I'd hate for her to be alone"

"I appreciate your concern," said Kyle as he stepped forward, putting a hand on his shoulder. "But she obviously doesn't want to spend her free time with us"

Liam lowered his head until finally giving a small nod. "Yeah you're right. Good thing we're only taking a day trip in case she changes her mind.

All three grabbed their travel bags and their weapons in case they needed them.

They made their way out of the dorm room as Kyle was the last out. He locked the door before turning to his teammates.

"All set"

"Whoo!" Cole cried. "It's go time!"

Kyle and Liam quickly gave him shocked looks.

"You do know there are people still asleep…" Kyle stated

"Oh yeah...whoops," Cole said. "Still, I'm so excited!"

The three made their way off campus together and soon left the city of Vale. They were soon in the countryside of Sanus staying on the dirt roads Kyle and Cole traveled before. Time passed, and they moved cautiously and made no stops, eating on the road as well.

Liam's eyes had been taking in the beauty the whole time and he had constantly enjoyed the sightseeing. He had also kept looking behind them to make sure no one was following them.

The sun began to set so they soon set up camp in a small wooded area not far from the road. They ate dinner and talked about many different things, laughing and asking questions.

Kyle took out one of his books to read, but soon found that he felt no need to. He was…happy.

He actually felt a sense of belonging now that his teammates were with him. Well…most of them anyway. Kyle's eyes drifted off towards the night sky. "What could she possibly be doing right now?" He asked himself.

"You guys know your mother is the sweetest lady…" Liam said suddenly as he leaned around the campfire.

"Don't be getting any ideas now!" Cole smirked as he looked over at him.

The two shared a laugh before turning to see their team leader turn around and 'attempting' to get some sleep.

"Alright, I guess we better get some shut eye," Liam said to Cole.

"Yeah, good idea.." Cole began before he stopped to look his way. "Hey Liam…."

"Hmm?" his teammate paused, looking over at him. "What is it?"

"You said….you and your twin brother fought" Cole whispered before giving a long pause. "What did you guys fight about?"

A silence followed, only the crackling of the fire could be heard.

Finally Liam slowly looked over to his teammate. "I'd….rather not talk about it" he said.

"Oh, sorry man," Cole told him.

"It's alright. But know this…." Liam began. "THAT GUY…" he said pointing to Kyle. "He's always going to have your back. He's YOUR brother."

Cole paused as he looked over towards Kyle.

"I hope so…" Cole began.

Little did they both know, he had been listening.

The next day, the three got up early again and soon began making their way back onto the road to travel. A few hours passed.

They eventually came to the split in the road which one path led to their town, another to Mountain Glenn.

"So this is it…" Liam said. "This is the final stretch."

"Yup, we're almost there!" Cole cried out.

Soon the three made their way into the town as the familiar faces, gardens, and houses began to clutter around the place.

"Hey Cole! Happy Birthday!" cried a woman's voice who stood outside in her garden.

"Thank you!" Cole cried with a wave.

Soon they found themselves stopping at the door of a very familiar place. It was at the edge of town. Their home.

Next, everything happened in a bit of a blur to Kyle. Before he knew it his mother had opened the door for them and welcomed them with open arms. Liam was especially nervous, but Maple quickly made him feel at home. Soon they had dinner, ate dessert and celebrated Cole's birthday with his favorite dessert.

The sun began setting again, and Maple insisted they stay overnight. The three teammates stayed in Cole's room as they talked for hours. Cole insisted Liam sleep in his room. Kyle nodded as he agreed and then made this way to his room. Liam also didn't complain about sleeping on the floor, insisting that he had no intention of taking his teammate's bed from him.

Early the next morning, Kyle rose early and made his way outside. He opened a book next to the same willow tree he had known almost his whole life.

Cole woke up and quickly smelled the breakfast Maple was cooking. He shook Liam awake and insisted on going down and eating.

"Hey you two!" Maple said as they came downstairs, seeing she had set the table for everyone.

"Hey mom! Breakfast smells great!" Cole shouted as he ran up.

Liam approached and gave a nervous smile.

He stood in awe as he stared at the sword above the fireplace, already guessing who it had belonged to.

"Liam, please have a seat! I'll have the food out as soon as it's ready!" Maple said, smiling at him. "Cole, call your brother in on your scroll. The food is almost ready"

"Uh…why can't I just run out and get his lazy butt!?" Cole exclaimed. "It would only take a second!"

"Cole, let me see your scroll." Maple demanded as she crossed her arms. "I think there's something going on between you two. I can tell by the way Kyle is acting…I'm your mother remember?"

"Uh, w-what!? N-No! Nothing is wrong!" Cole insisted as Maple noticed the fear in his voice.

Liam's eyes widened as he sat at the table before quickly reaching into his pocket. "Here I'll do it Mrs.Voltio!"

"No need Liam, thank you for offering" she said as she continued staring down her youngest son. She held out her hand as Cole sighed in defeat. He handed her his scroll.

Cole gulped.

After opening it up, Maple began to message Kyle as she gave a small smile. It quickly went away as she began scrolling over the messages between the two.

"M-Mom….I…" Cole began.

He quickly flew back in shock as his mother suddenly and deliberately slapped him across the face.

Cole stood in utter disbelief as Liam looked on from the table with his eyes wide.

"What is this?" Maple demanded with a very angered tone. She suddenly raised his scroll up and showed Cole the screen .

The message 'You'll never be like HIM, so just stop trying to.' was the first thing he saw. Cole quickly looked away and down at the floor.

"I…" was all he began to say.

"No," Maple said, stopping him. "There's nothing you can say that justifies what you did. Cole, How dare you. Your father would be so ashamed of you for treating your brother like this"

"I was just-" Cole began.

"No. This is on you and you alone. You have to fix this. Apologize to him" Maple said, crossing her arms. No go sit at the table" she saiding handing him back his scroll.

Kyle suddenly walked through the door and looked around. "Uh, everything alright? I got your message. But did I miss something? It's awfully quiet in here…..

"Everything is fine, sweetheart. Let's eat" Maple said as she gave a warm smile.

2 WEEKS LATER

BEACON CAFETERIA.

Kyle sighed and glanced around to see the normal entourage of the academy. School had started back.

Most students sat with their teammates, but also with friends from other teams.

He looked over after finally spotting Team RWBY. His eyes fell on Blake Belladonna.

She was attempting to read something in her textbook as she talked. Yang Xiao Long seemed to be fooling around with Nora Valkyrie from the next table, flinging pieces of food.

"Looking at that Ms.Bowtie?" Cole grinned before fixing Kyle's attention span. "Uh, I was looking at them, yes," Kyle replied quickly. "They really stand out."

"You were LOOKING at HER." Cole continued laughing. "This ain't the first time bro"

"Cole....give it a rest. Maybe some peace and quiet is best." Liam told him suddenly. "And plus....I find myself looking that way often. That Schnee girl.....is quit a sight."

Petra gripped her utensils until they made a grind noise.

Liam quickly noticed and looked over at her.

"Uh, did I say...Schnee...? Sorry I meant....that Nikos girl. She's tough. "

Kyle thought he knew a possibility for Petra's strange behavior and personality, but now had a very good one. "The Schnee Dust Company," he thought. Glazing over at Weiss, he noticed she had a very distinct look. Her skin was fair....and her hair was a pale white. Even though she likely was spoiled beyond belief....she was still somehow a sight for sore eyes he had thought.

Then it happened. He completely snapped back to attention. An entire pie had been thrown and was dressing her face.

Then all hell was let loose.

Before anything else was said or done, food came from every direction with screams and shouts from students of every kind.

"FOOD FIGHT! FOOD FIGHT!! the voices rang. Almost everyone ran and made their way out of the cafeteria as table after table was knocked over their heads, others took cover.

"LOOK OUT!" Liam cried.

His teammates all stood behind him as food smashed into the front of his body.

"What the hell!?!" Cole cried. "L-Liam! Look out!"

"I'm fine, just thought I'd be the shield," he moaned, spitting food off his wet face..

"Hahaha!" cried a feminine voice.

Everyone looked to see Team JNPR next to a massive pile of benches with Nora at the very top.

"I'm queen of the castle! I'm queen of the castle!" She sang tauntingly.

"She started this!?!" Cole cried, hunching over in cover.

"Yeah... HER no doubt." Liam said, wiping his face more. "So....what are we gonna do?"

Team RWBY soon looked on as Ruby Rose yelled angrily for revenge.

Kyle stopped a brief moment, looking at each of the teammates in the face.

"Cole... I think it's time we take your advice. Let's go have some action!"

He looked over at Petra, who in a way agreed. Liam and both Cole returned

mischievous grins.

"Let's help Ruby and the others beat them," Kyle told them.

"Down with the Queen!" Cole cried.

"Excuse me...what?" asked a girl's voice.

The four of them immediately turned to see Coco Adel and her team.

Cole immediately saw Velvet and gave her a queasy smile.

"Oh no.." Kyle murmured with a gulp.

"We.....we're just in..on the fun." Liam began with a nervous smile.

"Fun!? For fun, you're going to help fight against THE Pyrrha Nikos and her team!? What is it, trying to show off? She continued.

"No, her team start -" Liam began.

"Enough, why don't you pick on someone your OWN size?"

"YOU'RE FACING AN IVANHOE, HIS WHOLE FAMILY COULD BEAT YOU!" Cole shouted, pointing to Liam.

"But....aren't we guys friends? Our teams?" Kyle quickly mentioned.

Suddenly, out of nowhere, Petra leaped into the air over the team.

She held a handful of plates while in the air. Quickly, she began throwing one at every member of CFVY. The plates smashed around as each person began taking cover. A few plates hit Yatsuhashi as he stumbled back, falling to his side.

Petra landed and charged towards them. She slid in between Coco's legs and grabbed one, trying to trip her. Coco quickly backflipped up and turned to face her. Suddenly, she reached for a bowl with a spoon and swung pieces of spaghetti from a bowl at all of KCPL.

Kyle dodged the two thrown his way. Cole wildly ran forward and was hit in the face, stopping him dead in his tracks as he fell over. Coco flung all of the noodles until she ran out.

"Are you okay!?!" Kyle asked Cole as they took cover behind a table. "I hate these guys..." Cole whispered angrily, staring at the ground. "Even Her...?" Kyle asked, pointing to Velvet. Cole looked to see her also taking cover. "Shut up...." he replied, slowly shaking his head.

Out of the corner of this eye, Kyle saw Liam putting Yatsuhashi in a headlock. Kyle then ran towards Petra to help until he saw HIM. Fox Allistair. He quickly jumped in front of the team. He began using soda cans and punched them towards the team.

Kyle soon became soaked from them as they smashed against his school uniform.

Cole jumped out from behind his table and threw a saltshaker at Fox, making him punch it and shatter. "AUGGH!" he screamed, rubbing his eyes. "Hah! Take that!" Cole shouted.

Velvet stood up, frowning at him as they met eyes.

"I love these guys," a laughing voice was heard. Everyone stopped suddenly, turning to see a mysterious male Faunus who was standing next to another male human student.

Then they saw someone else.

They looked on as Headmistress Glynda slowly but surely came in.

"Do not play with your food," She quietly told everyone.

All the teams suddenly realized their foolish mischief. Everyone began laughing and soon made up.

"Sorry about the mess..." Coco began as she wiped her shades.

"Hah....no worries, I suppose." Kyle replied. "It WAS a fair fight."

"Sure, whatever you say...." Coco replied, looking Liam's direction.

"Ugh, s-sorry about the...salt. Does it still hurt?" Cole asked Fox.

"N-Nah" he replied as he continued rubbing his eyes in pain.

Cole then looked at Velvet as they both managed to smile at each other.

Cole then met eyes with his brother. They looked at each other and something took Kyle by surprise. Cole smiled at him.

Kyle looked over at his brother and smiled back. He really was becoming quite different. Perhaps....like their father was.
