Void narrowed his eyes. "What, is this?"
Obsidian floated up and scanned the pod. "Vitals are erratic. High ether fluctuation. Muscular regeneration... likely recovering from traumatic injury. But his mind, it doesn't seem right. Brain activity is dangerously low."
Void placed a hand on the pod as he felt the energy radiating from the Captain. 'He's the source of that erratic energy.'
"What's going on?" Void spoke up.
"Looks like whoever shut this place down and abandoned it, forgot to leave power for the pod. If it keeps going as it is, that Fallen captain will die. The pod's not doing anything, at best, it's just a cell."
Void studied the Captain a moment longer. At a closer look, two of his arms, seemed odd.
"Check for modifications, his arms, they look weird."
Obsidian obliged, scanning the Captain's body, "Designs and materials are similar to splicer tech we found. Looks like we just found a test subject the splicers used."
Void paused. 'A test subject?'
He hadn't ever encountered something like this.
"What's the plan?" Obsidian asked, flittering around the pod.
"The plan.." Void's thoughts raced. He glanced around. There were no one else around. The only way to find out what had happened here, was to ask the Fallen Captain himself. For that, he needed to live.
"We'll need him to answer questions. What happens if I open the pod now?" Void pondered.
"It'll jolt him back to life, but don't expect anything grand. With brain activity that low? It'll be a miracle if it can walk." Obsidian calculated.
Void nodded, "Open the pod."
Obsidian's eye flickered with light. The machinery of the pod seemed to recognize it. Then an instant later, the containment pod snapped open.
Ether vapor hissed out, a pale blue fog spread through the room. Then, a jolt seemed to run through the Fallen Captain's body.
The Captain stumbled out—then froze, like he'd waken from a nightmare. Hisyes burned with a pale red hue. His muscles pulsed.
Void blinked in surprise as his system window flared.

Void's brows twitched. This system of his....did it really just trigger so randomly after so long.
Kaviss screamed cutting his thoughts short.
"Barely walk huh?" He shot Obsidian a sharp glare.
Obsidian coughed and ceremoniously disappeared.
Ether vapor burst from his mouth as his body flared with chaotic surge energy. He lunged forward with the fury of a berserker, blades hidden under his broken armor snapping forward.
Void deftly ducked the first swing.
Steel clanged against plating as Void's arc blade unsheathed, crackling in his grip. He twisted under Kaviss' next attack, slicing upward, sparks flying. Kaviss snarled and retaliated, fists colliding with the floor and sending shockwaves outward.
Void leapt onto a bench and vaulted over Kaviss as the Captain charged. "Big guy's angry. Zamyr, help me out here."
Kaviss launched a mine, forcing Void to roll out of the blast radius. The room exploded in red. Wires snapped. Consoles shattered.
Void's figure flickered in the haze as he appeared in front of Kaviss. He re-gripped his blade.
~Should I take his soul? His mind is weak, he won't be able to resist~ Zamyr's eerie voice echoed in his ear again.
"What? No, no. Don't even try that. Just, knock him out. Don't wanna hurt him."
Kaviss lunged at him again.
Void's blade clashed against Kaviss's reinforced gauntlets as the Fallen Captain roared, his ether vents pulsing with every breath. Sparks danced off the floor as the two figures spun across the chamber—blades, fists, and light flying in a storm of violence.
Void ducked a wild swing and struck Kaviss across the jaw with the back of his fist. The Captain staggered, but barely slowed. His cybernetic limbs crackled and adjusted mid-motion, compensating for Void's every move.
"These splicer aren't half bad." Void muttered, shifting his stance.
Kaviss charged again—reckless, but deceptively smart. His arms twitched with acceleration servos, swinging faster than before.
"I noticed."
Void backpedaled, letting Kaviss press forward—then vanished in a crackle of static. An instant later, he reappeared above him, blade outstretched, arc lightning coiling down his arm.
Kaviss was ready. The Captain swung upwards, his fist clashing against the arc blade as lightning burst through the room, blasting away both to opposite ends of the room.
Void groaned and pushed himself up.
He moved.
With a snap, Void disappeared into a streak of blue.
Kaviss barely had time to register it before Void was upon him—slashing low, then high, dancing from shadow to strike in pulses of light and velocity.
The Captain roared, ether spilling from new gashes as Void's blades sliced into joints and armor plating.
Still, Kaviss fought like a cornered beast.
But then a shadow draped the walls. The lights dimmed.
From Void's shadow rose a draconic silhouette. Its wings unfurled as a suffocating presence gripped the room.
Kaviss froze for half a breath. His mind crumbling as he saw the dragon gaze at him. A surge of phantasmal energy seemed to pulse towards him.
The surge knocked Kaviss clean out.
The Captain hit the ground with a thud, groaning once before going limp. Blue ether hissed from his vents as the containment room fell silent.
Void exhaled, letting the arc energy dissipate from his body as sparks trailed off his armor.
Obsidian hovered down, scanning the unconscious Captain.
"Vitals stable. Muscle twitching has stopped. He's down. How are we gonna extract the info?"
Void sheathed his blade grabbing Kaviss by the shoulders as he dragged the body towards the door. With a grunt, Void slung Kaviss over his own shoulder, and walked towards the exit.
"What are you doing?" Obsidian hummed.
"Well, the only way we're getting answers is this guy lives. Can't just leave him here can I?" Void replied.
"You.... you're taking him to the workshop....aren't you?" Obsidian paused and sighed, "Pahanin's not gonna like this one."
Void didn't answer, and flickered away.

The Devil's Lair shook under the weight of fire and fury.
IEatPaint dove behind a rusted slab of metal, his health bar blinking red. "Okay! That's a bit too close—Sepiks is pissed!"
"Just keep shooting!" Waffles shouted, snapping her void rifle into position. "It's almost cracked!"
Sepiks Prime hovered above the arena, its massive spherical frame weaving erratically. Blue light flared from its core, chaining arcs of energy into the steel around it. The last shield layer sputtered, but the damage output was ramping up fast.
TheOneWhoKnocks blinked to the far side, taking potshots with his hand cannon. "Dude, its 1 HP!"
Sepiks screeched. Its core flared.
"Super's ready!" Waffles yelled.
She jumped, gliding midair as a Nova Bomb gathered in her palms and she immediately hurled it towards the Servitor.
The purple orb arced with purpose, striking Sepiks square in the chassis. A boom shook the lair, sucking in air with a gravitational pulse. Metal buckled. The shield collapsed.
"NOW!" she screamed.
IEatPaint rose with a grin, rushing forward and unloading his auto rifle straight into the exposed core. Sepiks reeled back as arc rounds dug into his circuitry.
TheOneWhoKnocks appeared beneath the servitor. Pulse rifle primed as he unloaded three heavy shots into the eye.
With a final groan of metal and energy, Sepiks convulsed, and a blinding pulse of light shot out from its frame—then silence.
[STRIKE COMPLETE – "DEVIL'S LAIR: SEPIKS PRIME"]
The team stood in the stillness. The Fallen stronghold buzzed only with failing electrical sparks and collapsing scaffolding.
Waffles exhaled, brushing off her shoulders. "That… was intense."
TheOneWhoKnocks chuckled and knelt beside the remains of Sepiks. "And beautifully violent."
The screen flickered as a transmat timer started.
IEatPaint said, scanning his HUD. "Strike rewards. Let's see what we got."

x3 Legendary Engrams (Gear)

Waffles nodded "Let's check back at the city."
TheOneWhoKnocks silently clasped his hands, "Please, please just a good chest piece."
IEatPaint opened his gear tab. "I do need a better helmet."

[Tower, Last City]
All three strike teams had now finished, and gathered in the courtyard again.
Undecided pointed at IEatPaint. "15 minutes? That's not human."
"You're just mad you got stuck with Gandalf," TheOneWhoKnocks said, stretching.
"Hey!" Gandalf called. "My build is supportive!"
"You literally went afk for half the strike." BearSpray added.
"My mom called!" Gandalf groaned.
Dumbledore shrugged. "Our strategy was good, we just lacked experience."
ThunderClappin groaned. "You tried to melee kill Sepiks."
"I have corrosive melee!" Dumbledore grunted.
"He had an invincibility shield the entire time." ThunderClappin shook his head.
Waffles chuckled, "Looks like we win again."
IEatPaint tapped his Ghost. "I mean… we did it in record time, dogs. You're all trash."
"By what? Like two minutes?" ILoveLoot grumbled.
"15:04" IEatPaint said smugly.
ThunderClappin huffed. "I demand a rematch. Come for one crucible game."
"F*ck no." IEatPaint shook his head.
