After the four Dragonborn disappeared into the sky with their majestic wings spread wide, Caelion remained standing at the edge of the floating island for several more seconds.
His eyes lingered on the distant horizon until the four figures became nothing more than tiny specks before vanishing completely among the drifting clouds.
Only then did he slowly turn on his heels and walk back toward the group of soldiers waiting several dozen meters behind him.
As he approached, he immediately noticed the expressions frozen on their faces.
Every one of them still stared toward the eastern horizon. Several soldiers had their mouths hanging slightly open, while others simply stood motionless as though their minds had not processed what they had just witnessed.
Caelion couldn't help smiling. A quiet snort escaped him.
"So," he said with amusement, "are all of you surprised?"
His voice finally snapped the soldiers back to reality.
