Caelion let out a long, weary sigh as he finally recovered from his initial shock. For a moment, he said nothing. His eyes slowly wandered upward toward the stone ceiling before drifting back down to the cold floor beneath his feet.
There was nothing remarkable about either surface. They were just rough, dark stones worn smooth by countless years. But the distant look in his eyes suggested he was seeing something else entirely, as though old memories hidden deep within his mind had suddenly resurfaced.
None of his movements escaped the attention of Erend, Eccar, Aesa, and Sylven. The four Dragonborn exchanged silent glances.
They no longer needed telepathy to understand one another. After everything they had experienced together, each of them could already guess what the others were thinking.
