Billy and Adrien naturally understood that Erend had not told them everything about his recent journey. Neither of them felt offended or believed that they deserved to know every secret he carried. Instead, they understood better than most people that whatever Erend was facing had long since surpassed their capabilities.
After all, they had traveled and fought alongside him before.
Both of them had accompanied Erend through countless dangerous situations and had experienced true Magic battles firsthand. They had found themselves standing at death's door during their adventures together more than once.
Those experiences had undoubtedly made them far stronger than ordinary humans and far more knowledgeable about the reality of combat involving Magic and world-ending threats.
Even so, both of them had reached the same conclusion long ago.
Unless Erend personally asked for their assistance, neither of them intended to insist on accompanying him.
