Erend looked at his three companions as they lay on the underground chamber's floor. His heart sank at the sight before him. The Black Rage was far crueler than its name suggested. It did not simply make Dragonborns lose themselves in blind rage. Instead, it seemed to drag them into the deepest and darkest parts of their hearts before forcing them to relive the pain they had spent so long trying to bury.
He let out a long sigh and decided to leave them alone for the moment. There was nothing he could do to ease their suffering right now. They looked utterly defeated. Whatever they had experienced inside their subconscious had clearly broken through emotional walls they had carefully built over the course of their long lives.
Erend slowly walked toward Velrion and immediately noticed the Archmage's expression. Shock was clearly written across his face as his eyes stayed fixed upon the three Dragonborn lying helplessly on the ground.
