The three of them waited outside for about ten minutes before Hiram Seaton came out. His expression was somewhat grave, which caused Ada Brooks to feel inexplicably flustered. She raised her trembling hand to grab his arm.
"Hi...Hiram, how is it? Alva...is she back?"
Both Sebastian Astor and Clara Sutton's nerves suddenly became tense, fearing that Hiram might bring the bad news they couldn't bear.
"Alva's breathing and heartbeat have indeed returned. From a medical standpoint, she is technically alive, but...she doesn't seem to show any signs of waking up." Hiram raised his hand to cover his lips, trying hard to calm himself, but his choked voice betrayed him.
"Hiram, what do you mean by that?" Sebastian frowned, unable to fully grasp the meaning of his words for a moment.
"It means...she's alive, but she will remain in a comatose state." A clear and pleasant voice interjected, interrupting their conversation.
