As Amos Smith's friend, even Blanche Wells needed to make an appointment to meet him.
She placed the project proposal in her hand onto the table, glanced around with her peripheral vision, and then noticed Bertha Haines. She didn't recognize her at first glance, but when she saw Manson following closely behind, she looked at Bertha a few more times.
"Miss Norris."
Blanche Wells still recognized Bertha Haines, even though she was bundled up tightly.
Because Manson was Amos Smith's special assistant, the people he served were generally those Amos valued.
Bertha originally wanted to avoid Blanche Wells; she didn't like this woman. Who would have thought she'd be recognized.
"Miss Wells."
Blanche Wells chuckled and exchanged pleasantries with Bertha Haines.
"Long time no see. Why are you wrapped up so tightly? I almost didn't recognize you."
"Oh, right, now that Miss Norris has entered the entertainment industry, you must cover up when you go out."
