Even Jerry Moore, with his normally good temper, was quite infuriated by the home-invading mistress. The security here wasn't just for show, so if the mistress could stroll inside, it meant someone in the family had let her in deliberately.

Just as Jerry Moore wanted to call someone in to throw the mistress out, Bertha Haines got up from the sofa ahead of him, picked up the glass of water on the table, and splashed it directly onto Julia.
The cup was full of water. Though not scalding hot, it was somewhat warm, and Julia was quite stunned by the splash. After realizing what happened, she immediately turned to Edgar Norris and cooed.
"My face… Is my face disfigured?"
