It was there in a dimly lit cave that a young man died...
The man was weak and horribly injured, and what stood before him was what one could only describe as a nightmare, bulging eyes attached to a head that should not have been able to hold them, arms bursting out of any open space on its body, a tangle of legs and feet that should have been its legs, and in its oversized grotesque hands was a sword, if you could even call it a sword. Near this man was a group of people around the same age as him, some injured but these injuries were not as bad as the mans'. Some of the people were shouting his name and telling him to run away, however the man didn't budge from his position and kept looking at the monster, did the man not run because he was paralyzed with fear? No, the man wanted to protect the group, because even the weak could have the courage to stand up against something stronger if it was to protect something or someone else. The monster roared and raised his sword, the young man yelled something but it was cut short as the sword met the mans head and then time stood still, the world around him faded into darkness, except for the silhouette of a humanoid entity that was slowly walking towards him and then crouched beside the young man.
"Was it worth it Zeph?" asked the entity
The young man named Zeph looked around, and then at the entity in a mixture of shock and confusion "W-Who are you, where am I, and how do you know my name?"
The entity glanced to the left before putting its hand on its face chuckling "I'm sorry about that I must have forgotten to introduce myself, who I am is a mystery itself, some call me God, others call me the creator or the destroyer. However I am none of those, I am merely a witness and a judge, I watch the living and judge the dead but you can call me Kin. We are in my own little dimension, and of course I know your name I'm the one that brought you to that place Zeph, if I remember correctly it was 2 years, 7 months, 4 days, 13 hours, 1 minute, and 53 seconds ago!"
Zeph stood up and looked at the entity who called himself Kin and replied with "So your the one that brought me to that hellhole, but I have a question for you when I first woke up you asked me, "Was it worth it?", what what is that supposed to mean Kin?"
Kin smiled happily and said "Yes this is why I liked you so much, introductions done and strait to business"
"How does this relate to anything I just asked?" said Zeph
"I was getting to that, why would protect a bunch of usless cowards, why would you try to be a hero?" asked Kin a little annoyed
"USELESS, COWARDS! What are you talking about I was the useless coward I had no good power and I stayed as far away from the monsters as possible I had no good loot or items to help me I wanted to be usefull!" Shouted Zeph
"Yes I know you had a bad ability it was an experiment, give one friend a useless ability and the rest good abilities what would they do? Would they help their friend fight or just bring him along... Spoiler they failed, true friends would help their weak friend get stronger. They gave you the least food and drink, they didn't let you fight so your sanity and mental state wouldn't change, and worst of all they let you sacrafice yourself and die for them, no its worse than that for them to even let you stand and try to fight with your injuries was horrible!" replied Kin
"What do you mean my injuries weren't that bad, were they?" asked Zeph
Kin roared "Weren't that bad huh?! Your injuries were 3 shattered ribs, a pierced lung, your arms were severed, your right leg looked like it got caught in a grinder and your skull had a dent so large you could fit 2 fists inside and still have room, for you to be even alive should have been impossi-"
"My friends were worse though..." Zeph interrupted
" Then your stupid, your friend the one with the mace who fainted from "pain" all he had was a broken finger, Your sister who acted as the tank sprained her ankle, That one girl you liked the alchemist yeah the one who couldn't stand and was hardly breathing, no injuries not even a bruise, same goes for your younger sister, the girl your older sister liked no injuries and the last one who was the rouge left a while ago! DO you get it it was useless to act as the hero!" Kin Shouted
As Zeph listened to all of this he became angrier, unhinged, and sad, "why did my friends lie to me, why did they use and discard me after I became useless even she left me..." thought Zeph
"You know I can let you get revenge on them all you have to do is obey me no matter what..." proposed Kin with a very sinister grin
Zephs' eyes lit up and said "Thank you I accept this offer of yours, but uhh how do i do this I'm dead I cant just walk in there alive and well because that would be too kind of a thing to do."
"Exactly you will be ghost like entity in their mind and torturing them in various ways." said Kin
"But its too early it only happened about an hour ag-" said Zeph
"Incorrect Zeph not at all, you had a phone right, you've seen memes im guessing?" asked Kin
"Uhhh yes, but why is that important?" responded Zeph
"Well have you seen the meme "one hour on this planet is seven years on earth" if so its the exact same here but plus another 2 years and since you were around all around 20 with the youngest being 19, 9 years have passed." so the oldest now would be 30 years old. And because I'm a good person your first target will be of your chosing." said Kin chuckling
"Hmmm how about the girl I liked the alchemist named Mana." answered Zeph
