"Grace..." Mike ran after Grace and found her in her room crying and upset. She didn't know what to do so the only thing she could do is cry.
"Hey my love what's wrong? What's the problem?" Mike asked her and she threw herself in her arms.
"It's okay to feel however way you feel." Mike comforted her.
"I know I'm supposed to be happy for my dad and support his decision especially now that he's finding happiness again. But I also feel bad for my mom. How would she take all of these?" Grace spoke out her fears with more tears pouring down her face.
"I'm really sorry that this is happening to your family Grace. But I think we are just going to leave the adults to handle their own problems. From the look of things, your father never loved your mom, and I think she knew it too." Mike said and Grace nodded her head in agreement.
"Yes, dad told us this last night. He only married mom because she was pregnant with my brother. Now that I think about it, I see the reason why grandma never really liked my mom. And my aunts hates her guts. It's because my dad has been suffering in this marriage for so long." Grace said feeling sorry for both her mom and dad.
"I don't know what to do Mike. I can't bring myself to support or reject my dad's request." Grace said and Mike hugged her.
"Just give it time. I'm sure everything will fall back into it's place as times goes on." Mike assured her and they both stayed in each other's embrace for a while.
"I'm getting a divorce. I don't want to be with Patricia for another day. As a matter of fact, I spoke with my lawyer before coming herd this morning. And everything is being processed." Mike said and Grace was shocked.
"What!" Grace stood up feeling apprehensive about the whole thing. She doesn't want to the reason why Mike is breaking up his family.
"I want you to know that you are not doing anything wrong Grace. I'm doing this because I want to. I don't want to live the rest of my life in regrets." Mike moved closer to her and held her shoulder.
"You see what's happening with your dad. That will be my fate if I don't do something fast about my situation." Mike added but Grace still felt restless.
"Here..." Mike brought out the letters he found in Patricia's safe and handed it over to Grace. She took it from him and read it through.
"This is the letter I sent to you years ago. How did you get it? Didn't you say you didn't have it or saw it?" Grace bombarded him with questions.
"I thought about everything you said last night, so I went home and questioned Patricia. I unlocked her safe, and found all of these there. She was the one who took the letter from my bag." Mike explained.
"And guess what? She made me write that letter. She lied to me that she was in some theatre group at school and needed help writing some lines. She sent the letter to you to make it look like I did it." Mike revealed and Grace was stunned.
"What! Why would she do that? Are you saying Patricia planned all of these right from the start? She knew that I was in love with you, went ahead and split us up just to get married to you?" Grace asked her mind running with different thoughts.
"Yes and you won't believe why she did something like that. She just wanted to get close to Christopher. Her safe passcode was your brother's birthday." Mike said and Grace could not believe the things she was hearing at the moment.
"Uhhnnn!" Grace exclaimed in shock.
"Yes, she has been in love with Chris since we were in college. But when Chris and Angel began dating, I thought she gave that idea up." Mike said.
"I thought so too." Grace said.
"Well we all thought wrong. She never stopped loving him. She has just been waiting patiently and plotting how she was going to get Chris." Mike said.
"So she went through the hassel of separating us both and getting married to you. Just so she can be close to my brother and win him back!" Grace gasped and slumped on the bed.
"Yes Grace, now that I think about it. I don't think she was ever pregnant with our child. I doubt if I even slept with her that night. It was all a lie Grace, and I refuse to continue living in such a lie for the rest of my life." Mike said.
"She would even go that far?" Grace was beyond shocked. She stood up from the bed and grabbed Mike.
"I was holding back before, but now I'm more than convinced. You have to do away with that pscoypath. I wonder what she has been planning." Grace gasped with her palm over her mouth.
"Mike you must stay away from her. You can't be around her for the time being. If she saw you only as a tool to use, I'm sure she can harm you, just to get what she wants." Grace said, and Mike shook his head.
"I won't let her hurt me." Mike assured Grace.
"I know that, but still, we can't take such risks. Especially now that she knows that you want to divorce her, she might try to do something to you. You will stay here at the mansion until the divorce is finalised. I won't let you out of my sight." Grace said, and Mike kissed her on the lips.
"I really want to do more than this to you right now. But I won't disrespect you in such a manner. I will get divorced first, and then I will take you as much as I want." Mike said.
"I can't wait." Grace giggled.
