Chapter 1 - The End?

The young man opened his eyes followed by a long sigh, he looked around at the familiar environment ACU Ward 1.

Sigh, Here again he thought, memories foggy and the feeling of nausea washing over him. The young man closed his eyes and pondered on the happenings of his morning, Ah yes he thought, I had a cris and had to call 999 for an ambulance after which I was given my normal 10 ml dose of morphine and knocked the fuck out.

Unfortunately his plight hadn't ended there as usual the pain numbing effects of the Morphine had already run out and the unbearable pain moving through his back threatened to make him scream out in agony. But would he? No! Never! since he could remember he would have episodes of pain plaguing him, attacking him at the slightest over exertion of his physical capabilities. This wasn't all, harsh winters and sweltering summers could lead to the pain creeping up on him unawares and landing him bedridden in hospital but he was used to this, this was the life of a sickler.

He was tired. After 21 years of being unable to live his life as he was wished, the young man was well and truly tired . on countless occasions in this same hospital ward he had prayed, prayed to anyone and anything that would listen begging for them to end his suffering, end the feeling of inadequacy and emptiness but alas his prayers had never been answered.

The young man looked around for his only solace in the dim lonely room, the only thing that numbed the pain he felt. A green button with a long lead attached to a low tech looking machine. This button was one he could press every 5 or so minutes that would release a predetermined amount of morphine into his blood stream that would help ease his ever torturous pain. He moved slowly and uncomfortably to reach the contraption that would alleviate his suffering and squeezed lightly on the dim green button.

*BEEP*

As he heard the soft beep he smiled and dropped his hand slowly, the young man relished in the feeling of wooziness that overcame him and closed his eyes slowly as the morphine travelled through his blood, numbing his body.

PATHETIC! HAHA HAHA TRULY PATHETIC
A deep and grating voice boomed. Startled and frightened the young man awakened from his lucid like state, as he opened his eyes he found himself no longer in the hospital ward but surrounded by stars, stars that filled the sky like sand on a beach.
The peculiarity did not end there however, as contrary to his expectations the backdrop of the sky was not black like the space he saw in movies and his own planet but instead blood red a red so deep he thought he would lose himself in the colour.

As his eyes wandered and the initial shock left him, he realised he had overlooked the intense feeling of being watched that was burning into his skull. He shuddered, stiffly turning around to figure out what gave him such a wicked feeling. Upon turning around he saw what he believed to be a black curtain that dropped from the sky, however upon closer inspection he realised he was wrong, dreadfully wrong. Draped in the black curtain he saw two blood red eyes peering at him, the same red that covered the sky and threatened to make him lose himself, the same red he found strangely beautiful . He reeled at the gaze as all his hairs stood on end, the more he stared at the eyes the more he felt himself losing consciousness, attempting to stop this he bit down on his tongue hard enough to draw blood. Futile! He realised. As his consciousness slowly withered the voice boomed again
CLOSE YOUR EYES MORTAL YOUR PUNY SOUL WILL PERISH IF YOU WITHSTAND MY GAZE ANY LONGER, IN FACT IM RATHER IMPRESSED YOUR SOUL DIDNT SHATTER IMMEDIATELY. HAHA HAHA DARING TO MEET A GODS GAZE HEAD ON, TRULY IGNORANT. MORTAL TELL ME YOUR NAME , YOU SHALL BE THE ONE TO RELIEVE ME OF MY BOREDOM!
As he heard these words, he felt a foreign entity sweeping through his memories. Helpless to stop it he gritted his teeth he looked up at the beautiful and menacing eyes and belted
KELVIN! FUCK YOU MY NAME IS KELVIN

FWAHAHA GOOD VERY GOOD DARE TO LOOK ME IN THE EYES AGAIN, EVEN KNOWING THE CONSEQUENCES, I HAVE CHOSEN CORRECTLY GO FORTH KELVIN I WILL FULFIL YOUR WISH AND FINALLY END YOUR PITIFUL LIFE.

However as these last words sounded Kelvin had already lost consciousness, the last of his spirit blown away like tumble weed in desert wind.
