Ultimately, Lucy Ansley couldn't resist the allure of the word 'attachment' and took in the puppy, naming it Anna.
Just as Henry Ronan had said, the puppy was very small and clingy.
Every time Lucy put it down from her arms, the little thing would start whining non-stop.
After trying several times, Lucy frowned helplessly, "Do I have to hold you for you to stop whining?"
I don't know if it understood, but the puppy whimpered a couple of times and continued to jump onto her.
Lucy scooped up its round body into her arms and murmured, "You'd better keep your promise."
The puppy's cries ceased.
Gently, Lucy petted its head; although a bit clumsy, it was clear she had accepted this unexpected guest wholeheartedly.
Seeing this, Henry slowly crossed his legs, his deep voice tinged with satisfaction: "It seems to like you a lot. If you have any questions about taking care of it, feel free to ask Thomas Chapman."
