The man smiled and pressed her head back down.
He said softly, "Alright, go to sleep. You've been staying up late recently, and that's not good for your health. It's harder to recover from a cold that way."
Fiona obediently closed her eyes, trying hard to calm her emotions, but after several minutes, she became more and more agitated. She furrowed her brows and placed her palm on the man's chest, inadvertently stroking it a few times.
The woman's unconscious gesture made the man frown. Norton Abyss held her hand down, and his large hand around her shoulder tightened, urging her once more to go to sleep.
Fiona sensed that something was off with the man; his body suddenly tensed up. Initially, she hadn't realized, but as her body temperature rose, she understood the reason.
Her face turned crimson, and Fiona was so startled that she didn't dare to move a muscle, even holding her breath.
