She paused, her voice choked and she couldn't see the man's face, only heard his heavy breathing gradually becoming shallow, becoming light, until she almost couldn't hear it.
The man remained silent for a long time, Crossley's hands still holding his face. After a long while, she only felt the wetness slide down on the back of her right hand.
"Ose?" Crossley started in surprise, about to speak, but the man had already pulled down her hands.
