For most of the journey, Xylia sat beside the window and watched the clouds slowly disappear beneath them as the aircraft descended toward the small kingdom.
She had heard about Vostrea before, but nothing had prepared her for the sight below.
The country was small compared with the nations surrounding it, yet it possessed extraordinary natural beauty. Mountains stretched across the horizon and were covered in dense forests that remained untouched in many places. Rivers wound through green valleys, feeding fertile farmlands and quiet villages. Beyond the capital, the coastline shimmered beneath the afternoon sun, with clear blue water surrounding rocky cliffs and secluded beaches.
