An invitation was sent to Aciel and Xylia. It came in a cream-colored envelope sealed with dark red wax bearing the royal crest of Vostrea.
Xylia stared at it for several seconds before carefully opening it. Her eyes widened as she read the elegant lettering.
Queen Beatrice Montreal of Vostrea was coming to the city.
She was not merely visiting as a royal guest. The Queen had been invited to meet with the country's leader regarding an important political matter between Vostrea and their government. As part of her official visit, a grand ball would be held in her honor.

Xylia looked up from the card.
"Aciel."
He was sitting across the room, reviewing documents on his tablet.
"What is it?"
"Your mother is coming."
His eyes immediately lifted.
