Aurora slipped into her outfit an elegant champagne-pink gown with soft ruffles and delicate embroidery, matching perfectly with the mini version Arlie wore. The pair looked like a walking mother-daughter fantasy. Eva walked in with Arlie, who was now calmer but still had a slight pout lingering on her lips.
"Let's not keep Daddy waiting," Aurora said, adjusting Arlie's ribbon. Eva carried Arlie as they headed to the car. Brandy, one of the security personnel, rushed to open the car door for Aurora. Once seated, Eva gently passed Arlie over, and the little girl immediately rested her head on Aurora's chest, hugging her mother like a teddy bear.
Arlie was the most adorable child her soft brown curls nestled into Aurora's neck, her little fingers gripping tightly. You could tell she was still mad at Mark; she hadn't said a word to him.
Mark sat in the back, absorbed in something on his phone. His brows were furrowed, clearly work-related. But as soon as he sensed movement, he looked up and froze.
"You're gorgeous, Aurora."
Aurora offered a light smile. "Thanks."
"Can I see my baby's face? "I doubt she'll turn. Someone's still mad at you," Aurora teased, stroking Arlie's back.
"Oooh, I see," Mark replied, chuckling softly.
Arlie shifted slightly. "Mommy, can I get your phone, please? "And what do you need it for, little miss?"
"I want to FaceTime Jaiden."
"Alright, I'll call him for you." Aurora unlocked her phone and handed it to her daughter. It didn't take long for Angel to answer.
"Hi, Aunty. Please, can I speak to Jaiden?"
"Of course, sweetheart." Seconds later, Jaiden's handsome little face popped up on the screen.
"Hi, Jaid!"
"Hi, Arlie. How are you?" I'm not fine," she pouted. "And may I know why, princess?"
"Because… my Daddy doesn't love me anymore." She said it with a wobbling lip, but it was clear she wanted attention.
Mark choked on his laughter, and even Maxwell who was riding shotgun turned and laughed.
"Oh, Arlie, you're too cute," Jaiden said, giggling. Arlie blushed and covered her face with her tiny palm. "Where are you going?" Jaiden asked.
"I'm heading to my cousin's birthday party. Wanna come?"No thanks. I have a project work. Besides, it's a girls' party. But have fun, you three-year-old cutie."
"Point of correction, I'll turn four this year. But anyway, bye, you seven-year-old handsome."
Aurora couldn't help but smile. A day could never pass without Arlie stealing hearts.
"You done?"
Yes, Mommy." She handed the phone back.
Mommy, can I get chocolate?"
"I wish I could give it to you now, but we both know you'll paint your whole dress in chocolate. Let's get there first, then you can eat tons of it. "Yieeee!" she squealed, clapping her hands excitedly.
"Arlie, come to Daddy," Mark said, stretching his arms. She turned to him slowly and gave him a cold stare.
"Oooh, I'm so scared," Mark said dramatically, placing a hand on his chest. "You really got my attitude." She rolled her eyes. "Whatever."
Aurora raised a brow. "Where did she learn that from?" Mark raised both hands in mock surrender. "You, of course."
Arlie finally climbed into his lap, resting her tiny hand on his cheek. "I forgive you, Daddy."
Wow, thank you, Your Majesty," Mark said with a dramatic bow. Arlie giggled.
Moments later, the car pulled up at the lavish Wilson estate Jeff and Daisy's mansion. The driveway was lined with elegant white and gold balloons. Uniformed valets opened car doors for guests, while soft classical music floated in the background. The Wilsons had arrived but they were yet to enter.
