Chapter 97 - Raphaelina's Little Schemes

I was just about to call Tiwa when I saw my butler open the door and usher someone inside. The sight of her made my blood boil.

Ralphaelina. She had come here well-prepared dressed to kill in a dangerously short mini skirt and a tight crop top that exposed her toned stomach. Her perfume hit the air like a warning, sharp and sickly sweet.

"Why are you here?" Tiwa asked coldly, her voice dripping with disdain.

"My, my… what do we have here?" Ralphaelina's lips curved into a cruel smile. "So you're Mark's little wife. Hmph! You're no match for me." I expected Aurora to snap back, to defend herself… but she didn't. She just looked at Ralphaelina with a calm, almost bored expression, her face unreadable. I had no idea what was going through her mind.

Hey, I'm talking to you!" Ralphaelina's voice rose, sharp as glass. "You gold-digger, bear in mind I'm his first love. The only woman he has ever truly loved!" The arrogance in her tone made my skin crawl.

Who does this woman think she is? She's irritating me to the core.I stood up abruptly, my voice cutting through the air like a whip.

"Listen to me, Miss—" I spat the word like poison. "I don't care who you think you are to him. Main wife, girlfriend, desperate ex… I. Don't. Give. A. Damn. Now, if you'll excuse me…"

Without waiting for a reply, I turned on my heel and stormed toward the garden. These few weeks here had taught me something I could no longer let anyone torture me mentally. Not him. Not her. No one. I wiped the tears that betrayed me, hot and stinging, sliding down my cheeks. But as I walked back toward my room, my steps faltered.

The door was ajar.

And there they were her hands on him, his mouth on hers. Ralphaelina pressed against him on my bed, their bodies tangled together.

It was as if the ground had been ripped from under me. I couldn't breathe. I couldn't move. I didn't even know why it hurt so much, but it did like someone had reached into my chest and crushed my heart in their fist. I stepped fully into the room, letting my presence be known. They froze.

But I didn't say a word. I turned and ran straight to the guest room my vision blurred with tears. After Ralphaelina's little show, I ushered her out of my room, my voice hard. "What the hell are you doing here? I thought we were done."No, Mark, baby…" She swayed closer, her voice dripping with false sweetness. Before I could stop her, she pressed her lips to mine.It caught me off guard. And like a fool, I let it happen. The one thing I regretted most was that Aurora saw us.

That look in her eyes… it cut deeper than any knife. I didn't know why, but seeing her like that hurt and silent made my chest ache.

I shoved Ralphaelina away. "Get off me. And get out of my life. I'm married. Get that through your head." I left her standing there, humiliated, and went searching for Aurora. I found her in the garden, her shoulders trembling. I wanted to explain myself tell her it wasn't what it looked like but my courage failed me. I turned and walked away.

The next morning, Ralphaelina was still here. Still in my house. Still in my room.We were at breakfast when Aurora walked in. She was fully dressed, radiant as ever, her face calm too calm. She greeted Tiwa politely."Tiwa, I'll be going now. "Hey, but you haven't had breakfast," Tiwa said, frowning. "Don't worry about me. I have a check-up to attend, so I'll eat after that."Tiwa tilted her head. "Why? Is something wrong with you?" Her voice softened in concern.

Aurora smiled faintly. "No, it's something I do once a week. Maybe you haven't noticed."

"Oh… yeah. I've been too busy with my own problems." Tiwa's eyes dropped, her expression clouded with sadness. I knew what was eating her alive. I told her the truth about Maxwell that he was married, and what we really were. The pain on her face was sharp and raw. It was her first love, and I understood that heartbreak all too well.

Tiwa had been good to me from the first day I arrived here. And deep down… I knew I had a soft spot for her.

"Bye, then." Aurora's voice was polite, distant almost cold. She didn't even look my way as she walked out the door. And just like that, she was gone again.Mark's jaw tightened. This woman is going to drive me insane.
