Lucas Quinn, excited, walked Proud in circles by the lake, once again running into Olivia Nelson.
Across the lake, Charlotte Allison looked up and saw them.
The young man wore a clean white pullover hoodie, while the girl's floral dress fluttered in the wind, forming a picture filled with youthful vitality as they passed by.
Olivia suddenly called out to Lucas.
Lucas stopped and turned back, his expression indifferent: "What's up?"
His gaze stayed on her for just a moment before he looked far off towards Charlotte Allison across the lake.
Only then did Olivia notice the silhouettes of the two leaning against the railing on the opposite lake bank. She opened her mouth but didn't say what she wanted. Instead, she tightened her grip on the dog leash and said, "Nothing, just saying hi."
Lucas: "Oh."
