Reminiscing, Mrs. Sheldon continued, "She also liked the song you just played, 'Sunset Flute and Drum'. She was young then and couldn't play, but every time she heard me or Tom playing it, she was so happy, her eyes crinkled with laughter, and she'd dance around with no semblance of rhythm..."
Charlotte Allison listened, as if seeing the little girl who danced and laughed so cheerfully.
She sat with Mrs. Sheldon for quite a while before leaving the lounge.
Mrs. Sheldon's energy was also quite depleted, and as Charlotte left, he leaned back in the comfortable chair and closed his eyes to rest.
Outside the lounge, Charlotte saw Allen Sheldon standing smartly at the door. She didn't know how long he had been there. He nodded at her, then looked at Mrs. Sheldon peacefully resting inside and gently closed the door.
"Miss Allison, you haven't had lunch while accompanying Grandma. We've prepared a meal in a private room for you." Allen led the way for Charlotte.
