Returning to Mrs. Sheldon's lounge again, unlike the quietness of forty minutes earlier, it's bustling this time.
Mr. Sheldon and Allen are not present. Sitting beside Mrs. Sheldon is another elderly lady, Ms Courtney.
Ms Courtney and Mrs. Sheldon were classmates. It was she who mentioned to Mrs. Sheldon that Hazel Allison plays the pipa well, suggesting she hear a piece at the birthday banquet, which led her to invite Hazel.
Apart from the two elderly ladies, there's Ms Hughes, some relatives of the Sheldon Family, and Hazel Allison and Jackson Vance who haven't left yet.
"Charlotte, come sit here." Ms Hughes called out to her.
Ms Hughes was slightly embarrassed, saying, "I mentioned to the teacher that you've been learning the pipa from me recently, and the teacher wondered if you could play a piece."
Ms Hughes didn't know that her casual mention of Charlotte Allison was actually guided deliberately by Hazel Allison.
