Old Jack's home was at the very end of an alley in the Old Port District.
It was a three-story house with a courtyard, which, although now looking quite dilapidated, would have been extremely expensive and not something ordinary people could own decades ago.
Unfortunately, with the Fenix River rerouting to the sea, the Old Port District rapidly declined, and its former status was replaced by the New Port District.
The value of the houses here naturally plummeted as well.
But no matter how you looked at it, owning such a house in the capital where every inch of land was treasured was still something enviable.
However, when Ronan went inside, he realized it could be described as bare and empty. A thief would cry, and even mice would scramble away.
Not even a decent piece of furniture!
Old Jack lit a kerosene lamp and said with an awkward smile, "I sold everything in the house that could be sold to learn alchemy."
Only this house remained.
