The Lucas Family's roses, enchanting and beautiful, full of thorns, had now caused Haley Summers to grimace in pain.
The elegant young master, being tormented by the thorny roses, had an inexplicable humor to it.
"Lorraine Hughes, what are you doing! How can you lay a hand on Haley!"
"Get lost!"
"Lorraine Hughes! Don't go too far, Haley was just worried about you, and you go and lash out at him!"
Annabelle Hughes hadn't clearly heard the conversation between them; she just blinked, and saw Haley being thrown to the ground by the other.
Wasn't it because she held a grudge against Haley for liking her?
More importantly, where did this woman get such strength?
Haley, with a dark face, brushed away the rose petals on his face, silently allowing Annabelle to attack Lorraine.
Annabelle had informed Mrs. Summers and others as soon as she saw Haley coming to meet Lorraine, planning to pin a clingy persona on Lorraine.
Unexpectedly, when the group arrived, they saw this bizarre scene.
"Haley, what happened?" Mrs. Summers frowned, her son always cared most about his image, how did he end up in such a mess today.
Annabelle, changing her attitude towards Lorraine from earlier, instantly became a gentle lady. She reached out to pat the leaves off Haley's back and bowed to apologize, "I'm sorry, Aunt Summers, it was my sister who accidentally hurt Haley, I apologize on her behalf."
Mr. Hughes wasn't in the front hall, but Mrs. Hughes immediately understood Annabelle's hint and quickly smiled apologetically, "Sorry Mrs. Summers, our Belle is immature, don't take it to heart. Belle, apologize to your big brother Haley! Listen to your mom, even if you can't be a couple, you can still be friends..."
Lorraine looked at her nails, speaking slowly: "My mom never gave me that kind of dream."
Mrs. Hughes's face stiffened, damn brat, is it necessary to constantly emphasize she's a stepmother?
The expression on Mrs. Summers's meticulously maintained face also couldn't hold up, something raised without a mother, not worthy of her precious son!
Mrs. Summers couldn't hold back and loudly rebuked: "No respect for your elders, corrupt behavior, and promiscuous lifestyle! With such a blemished record, no prestigious family in Cloud City will accept you!"
The Summers Family certainly wouldn't!
Lorraine couldn't care less, twirling the motorcycle keys in her hand, she lifted her foot and was about to leave.
Mrs. Summers's expression was about to collapse, she prided herself on being a dignified lady and usually disliked squabbles, yet no young one dared completely ignore her like this.
Annabelle seized the opportunity to once again play the sisterly bond card, her tone becoming increasingly gentle: "Sister, don't say that, as long as you apologize, Haley and Aunt Summers are understanding, they won't really blame you!"
Lorraine ignored Annabelle, instead, she looked at Haley with a glance filled with disdain as if she was granting charity, a perfectly arched smile gracing her lips, the mole at the corner of her eye adding an allure, seemingly mocking Haley's current dishevelment, her tone remaining icily indifferent:
"Didn't he fall on his own?"
Everyone was puzzled, Haley fell on his own?
If that's true, what does it have to do with Lorraine?
What apologies was Annabelle constantly making?
"Hazel, Golden Grace, Cloud City..." Lorraine counted slowly on her fingers.
Haley held Annabelle's hand with a stern face, seemingly intimate, but applying slight pressure, signaling Annabelle to shut up.
"Sorry, I drank too much and lost awareness for a moment." Haley said calmly, though his gaze at Lorraine was growing deeper.
Annabelle was stunned, he was actually covering for Lorraine! After all this, she was the fool?!
Suddenly she found the Haley in front of her very unfamiliar.
The others, seeing Haley say this, didn't say much more.
Lorraine didn't even bother to spare them another glance, she turned around and left without looking back.
