Ezra releases a long, defeated sigh.
Somehow, things had gotten significantly worse.
Lady Aramina regarded Ezra for a few moments after his complaint about encouragement, then shifted her attention toward Director Halden.
"Halden"
The director immediately straightened.
"My Lady"
"Retrieve Magister Veylor"
Halden bows. "At once"
The director departs immediately, the massive doors sliding shut behind him with a muted hiss.
Silence reigns.
Neither the uncomfortable silence of strangers, nor the tense silence of enemies.
It was a peculiar stillness that existed somewhere in between that both parties tried to gauge each other.
The floating river continued flowing through empty space.
Although looking at it now, it only resembled a river in the way it imitated a river's perpetual motion.
But rather, it is a body of water held around the space in the shape of a ring.
For several moments neither speaks.
Then finally, the Lady breaks the silence.
