When one first thinks of Necromancy, the images of liches and death knights slaughtering innocent civilians, waging endless wars and spreading their rot and disease appears in the minds of many... on Earth, at the very least.
Necromancers, in the universe, is an extremely respected position. Almost all Necromancers ally themselves with the house of Death, and those that are hermits still follow their ways. Why wouldn't they? Necromancers are said to be the students of Death itself, and that position carries a lot of importance.
Most Necromancers, those who become liches, and those that remain tethered to the flesh, all serve the House of Death. They guide the souls of the departed, sing and dance for the glory of the dead, and perform funerals. Frankly speaking, it's a well paying job in the universe, especially in the House of Death.
