Chapter 41 - The Seraphim Twins P5
*****
"You couldn't beat them either?"
"Nope. They're too strong."
"Aren't they royals?"
A while later while we were lounging around under our umbrellas, a few guys were walking by us talking about something... interesting.
"Yeah, they're from the Barrett family."
I hopped up from my chair and walked up to them. "Hi, could you tell me a little more about these royals from the Barrett family? What are they doing?"
"Huh? Who are... wait-"
"Yes, hi, I'm Kye Akari. What are my stupid cousins doing?"
They pointed toward the far end of the beach from the resort. We were pretty close to the resort. As he pointed, I saw a somewhat large splash of water.
"They're scamming people again?" I sighed.
"Well, they're not exactly scamming anyone," the first guy said. "They're running a competition offering a reward to anyone that can make a bigger splash with mana."
"And let me guess. They're doing just enough to make the bigger splash? They're being deceptive. Sanae! Lily! Ally!"
They hopped up and came over.
"What are you going to do?" the second guy asked.
"I'm gonna drop the whole ocean on them." And then I had an idea. "Actually... Lily?"
"Yes, Eli?"
"Wanna show off a bit?"
She smirked and nodded.
"We'll get them back for you," I said to the guys. We left them looking stupefied.
As we got closer, the splashes got bigger. It seemed there was someone able to give them a run for their money. The splashes got slightly bigger every splash as we got closer.
Their competition? My classmate and friend, Louis Chevalier. She was looking at them with her brows furrowed.
"Your competition is so disingenuous!"
"Whatever do you mean?"
That was all I needed to hear. I put my hand on Lily's back and urged her forward. The rest of us stayed in the crowd under an illusion so that the boys wouldn't recognize us if they looked this way.
Lily walked up to them and got their attention. "May I participate?"
"Of course!" said Johnathan. "Beat us and you get a prize!"
"Pfft." Louise didn't bother to hide it. She knew what Lily was about to do, and the boys didn't seem to recognize her.
"How about we make a bet?" Lily said with a smirk.
"A bet?" Joseph said, unable to hide his excitement. "What kind of bet?"
"If I win, you treat me and my friends. All we can eat."
"And if you win?" Johnathan asked.
"We'll go on a date with you."
The boys exchanged glances and grinned. ""You're on!""
Lily smiled, giving them a false sense of security. "You go first. Show me what I have to beat. And then you can go again. Together if you want."
"My lady," Joseph said, "don't you think you're looking down on us? We're royals you know."
She just kept smiling.
"Okay then," Johnathan said. "I'll go first."
He stepped up to the water and channeled his mana. Then, he launched a wave of mana across the water, making the biggest splash yet. But it was again only slightly bigger than the last one.
"Let's see you top that, little lady."
"Eli, I'm going to make a really big splash. I already checked my target area. There's nobody in range."
"Sounds exciting."
Lily kept her smile and stepped up to the water. She held her hand out and channeled an enormous amount of aether to create a golden fireball, but was careful not to let any of it leak. Most wouldn't notice how much power she was wielding, the boys included.
But Louise could tell. She's received training from me since our first year in school.
"<
The golden fireball she created launched far off over the sea. It barely splashed up any water.
"Huh?" Johnathan said, holding a hand over his eyes to block the sun so that he could see what happened. "You didn't splash much at all. That spell sounded really cool, but-"
Then she snapped her fingers and her magic detonated. The explosion was even bigger than the detonation I used in the battle here five years ago.
And it was golden flames.
The explosion threw water high into the air, making the biggest splash the boys had ever seen.
I grinned and walked up to them, dispelling the illusion as I approached. "Hi, Louise!"
"I thought you might be here," she said, looking satisfied that the boys just lost.
They dropped to their knees with their heads in their hands.
I whistled and walked up to them. "Well, boys, this is a familiar situation." I made a portal to the inside of the resort with Hannah on the other side.
"Okay, what happened?" she asked, sounding very exasperated.
"Remember when we busted them on our honeymoon five years ago? Yeah, they were doing that again."
"No."
"No?"
"Send them to Allison. I'm not dealing with that."
I smirked. "Got it!"
The boys looked as though death approached when I closed the portal and opened another. Allison was busy in her office at the school. She looked up through the portal and saw us with her sons.
She sighed. "Are they doing that again?"
"Yep."
"Alright. Come here, boys."
They froze, but I just kicked them through the portal. "Have fun! See you later, Allison!"
"Yeah, yeah."

Shi-chan and San-chan took the twins and left. The twins finally admitted their suppressed feelings, and they needed to figure things out. Maybe ten minutes after they left, I received a message from Lily.
Liliana >> If you say "I told you so" we're fighting >.<
Alethea >> Sure sure. What are you doing tonight?
Liliana >> Eli and Fia are taking us out. I imagine we'll be gone for a while.
Alethea >> Not "Princess"? :3c
Liliana >> She won't let us call her that anymore >.>
Alethea >> Hehe, enjoy yourselves ^.^
Liliana >> We're all in bikinis, so I'm sure we'll have fun ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Alethea >> Oh? Pics?
Liliana >> Nope! You can wait until we get home.
Alethea >> Aww... well have fun, okay?
Liliana >> Are you jealous? :3c
Alethea >> WDYM? Of course I'm jealous! I want to be there with you and oogle all four of you in bikinis!
Liliana >> All four of us? Me and Aliana included?
Alethea >> Yep! You two especially! I mean I get to see Shi-chan and San-chan in skimpy clothes every day. You two not so often.
Liliana >> But I don't get it. Why do you want to see my sister and me in our bikinis?
Alethea >> Over text I can't tell if you're fishing or asking innocently.
Liliana >> Innocently? What do you mean by fishing?
Alethea >> Do you want me to spell it out?
Liliana >> Yes I'm confused.
Alethea >> Do you think our dear Eli and Fia are the only ones who love you?
