The bioelectric signals that ran from neuron to neuron were simply unsuited for the goals that he needed to fulfill within a reasonable amount of time.
"Time to upgrade to light."
In the past, such an upgrade would have been utterly nonsensical to even comprehend. Even with his Gene Realm and Martial Soul, having his cognition run on light signals instead of bioelectric signals was a ludicrous goal to have.
And yet, he simply got to work.
The Forge of Creation roared to life as he began constructing a blueprint and model for what his brain would look like. However, it would function and would end up ensuring that his consciousness was not affected in any way.
