Vincent was not surprised that Charlotte Thompson had now woken up.
He glanced at Charlotte, put the phone back in his pocket, then leaned against the door frame, crossing his arms and revealing a smile.
"How are you feeling now? Is there anything uncomfortable?"
Although the smile on Vincent's face hadn't changed at all, Charlotte felt that the person standing in front of her had turned into a complete stranger.
Charlotte felt a vague sense of fear in her heart; how had she not noticed anything off about Vincent before?
How long has he been pretending in front of her?
"Where are you taking me?"
Charlotte tried to keep her voice calm.
What she needed to do now was assess her situation, then find an opportunity to contact Justin Battleson.
Vincent didn't immediately answer Charlotte's question but instead walked over to a table and poured her a glass of water.
"Of course, I'm taking you to a nice place. I remember you said you liked the seaside before."
