The car made its way from the police station back to the fire brigade, and by the time they arrived, it was almost three in the morning. There wasn't a soul in sight except for the two guards at the entrance.
Jiang Ye carried the woman out of the car, and Lu Jing finally came to:
"Are we there?" she asked.
"Yeah, you awake?"
Lu Jing rubbed her eyes, then patted the man's wrist:
"I can walk on my own, put me down."
Being asleep was one thing, but now she was awake, it was another.
She wasn't that much of a drama queen.
Jiang Ye had no choice but to let her down:
"Why so sleepy? Are you sure you're not feeling unwell?" he asked again.
Lu Jing shook her head:
"No, I'm certain."
What else could Jiang Ye say?
"Alright, let's go home."
If she really wasn't feeling well, they'd have to wait until daylight to deal with it.
It's easier to find a doctor in the light of day, after all. In the deep of night, only emergency is available, which isn't very convenient.
