Chapter 9 - Chapter 8 – Rashomoun and Into the Shadows

Third person POV

But not long after, Akutagawa came back to the building feeling pissed off because that mission by the Armed Detectives never happened, only for one of his henchmen to go to him and revealed that Arturo had escaped. "WHAT?!" Akutagawa was very angry and pissed off.

"Yes, and that youngster left us a note," replied that grunt while showing a note to him.

Akutagawa then immediately and hastily grabbed it and read it.

The note says, "Haha! Got ya! Fooled you! Try to catch me, dark, shady guy!"

This was written in casual Japanese, completed with two translations in Filipino and Korean and a smiley face beside the Korean one.

Akutagawa was angrier than before and tore the paper note apart, before going out to hunt for Arturo while vowing vengeance against him. Meanwhile, Arturo was just done shopping for food and other stuff he would need for the night at the dormitory. He was humming happily while staying vigilant on the possibility of Akutagawa hunting him down. So, Arturo went to university by train, dropped his groceries at his dorm room, and went out again, this time, to spend the rest of the afternoon waiting for that possibility from Akutagawa. To do that, he went around Yokohama, exploring, taking pictures at noteworthy places, and writing in his small notepad while eating cheap and light snacks to fill his stomach.

And then, at 4:33 p.m., while Arturo was traversing an alleyway while on headphones, Akutagawa finally caught him while panting heavily from searching for him. "You there…Don't you dare run away from me, you moron…" Arturo heard that in front of him and put a relaxed look on his face. "Oh, took you long enough to hunt me down."

A snickering laugh followed after that on Arturo's mouth.

"How funny that you managed to trick me all this time…" Akutagawa responded while narrowing his eyes in hostility.

"Oh, that? Yup! It was intentional."

A second snickering laugh followed after that on Arturo's mouth.

"You stupid bastard, you'll pay for this…"

Akutagawa then used his Rashomoun ability for this battle with Arturo.

Arturo was quite surprised but didn't back down either; instead, preparing his Into the Shadows ability just in case. "Okay, go and try to hit me…" This was completed with a beckon on his finger, arousing Akutagawa's anger more.

Arturo's gesture made Akutagawa angry, and Akutagawa used his Rashomoun to attack him. "Rashomoun!" Arturo then used his Into the Shadows ability to dodge his attack, causing Akutagawa to be shocked at his sudden disappearance.

"Where did you go?" Akutagawa said while looking around, trying to find him.

But then, Arturo appeared behind him using his ability and hit him in the back of his neck. "Take this!" Akutagwa was struck by it and turned around, seeing that Arturo appeared behind him with a smile.

"What in the..?" Akutagawa responded to this.

"Yup! Shadow attack to you!" Arturo teased back.

Akutagawa was mad and again used his Rashomoun to attack him. "Rashomoun!"

Arturo then used his ability again and did the same attack on him again.

This battle continued for minutes as the sun set. By 4:54 p.m., this ended with both sides exhausted from fighting. "Giving up?" Arturo responded back to him while panting for his breath. "We can do this until at night…"

"Fine, you win this time, youngster…" Akutagawa replied back in exhaustion.

The battle ended with a tie, but Akutagawa warned Arturo not to get involved in his activities, especially against the Armed Detectives Agency. However…

"No, I won't!" Arturo strongly barked back. "Unless you leave them alone, dark guy!"

Akutagawa was taken aback by his objecting response but was upset and respectful towards him. "Fine then, good luck with that."

With that, Akutagawa dusted off his clothes, turned around, and left off, leaving Arturo in the scene.

After that, Arturo went back to his accommodation just before nighttime came. There he changed his clothes, rested up for bit, and cooked some simple Filipino food for dinner. His dorm room was Japanese-style, and it was a bit big with everything a student might need. There is a bathroom and a toilet in one room, as well as a small kitchen with an induction stove for easy cooking.
